A very strange way to get your kicks there, Ivan.

May I suggest a hobby?

Perhaps shuffleboard......or Parchesi?

Seems like a nice car, but a tough market. I gave up on selling mine and will now start driving it in the rain and snow. My 6 year old throwing up in the back seat didn't help matters not one bit.
Hillary sucks.

Thanks for your imput.

Have to get the wife a car and looks like I have to give up the the Bimmer. To me its just a car and I was just throwing that number out there. I saw on E-Bay last year a tan interior going for 16k. I never thought I would get such a stupid response you should read some of the crap these guys respond with. Its great if I am having a bad day I can just log into MyE28.com and get good laugh. Maybe theres someone out there that can give a honest answer what its worth without all the added comments.

I'm not interested, but I'd give you $2,100 max if I was.

I don't think you have ever provided enough information for anyone to provide you with an honest appraisal of your M5's value.
We've seen the few pictures you have posted, we know the VIN, we know it's had a number of owners, we know you bought it out of Texas and what you say you paid for it but not much else.
What is the mileage?
Has the timing chain and tensioner hardware been replaced?
What are the compression and leak down numbers?
Accident history?
Is the paint original?
Does it still have the SLS rear suspension?
Any rust?

With a bit more information and a little less baiting and antagonism on your part you might get some straight answers and opinions.

out of control...

I expect that many of us will continue to question a price tag that seems significantly out of line or is not supported by the information supplied....its a natural reaction to do so....it gives the seller a prompt to step up and defend or adjust their expectations (kind of a free market thing)...anyone who just throws a number on a car on an enthusiast board without considering the potential for such a reaction is either very bold or inexperienced in these matters (IMO)....it's too bad that the discussion has slid down into the gutter so quicky....the profanity and personal threats speak volumes.

original paint
I had the valves done chain and tensioner in June of last year.
152,000 miles
No rust it stays in the garage. Never sees rain.
The rear suspension is now working since I had the shocks replaced last year with used one's from Bavarian Auto Recycling.
The clutch has about 10,000 miles on it when I had the trans resealed.
Next time I have it in my shop I can take pictures of the under carriage. I removed the exhaust and custom made my own including the cat, the muffler is performance from a 5 series. To tell you the truth it sounds great and breaths a lot better since I opened it up.
Being my wife is also looking for a Bemmer I wouldn't mind trading.
Any other questions feel free to ask.
Finally a decent conversation.

So the m stripes are stock?

Oh and you took a muffler from the higher performance 5 series than the m5 right? And then with all your engineering expertise on exhaust scavenging and aero/thermo dynamics made a much better system than M could, just right off the top of your head? And you made your own cat using your supply of platinum of course.

Does the red valve cover mean its an s38 testa rossa? Or is that the key to your super exhaust?

You've played the dickhead card, so I thought you wouldn't mind if I did too.

This is a bad indicator of your maintenance. You replaced critical parts with junk yard parts of unknown history.

You wife is getting a motorcycle? You will trade the M5 for a cycle?

before I replaced the cat I spoke to the engineer at eastern cat ( who happens to be in 39 countries ) that the cat I was installing is more than enough to handle the system. Besides after I installed it I was due for inspection and the readings were cleaner than most cars that age. Nox was nothing. Everything else could be changed back to original the stripes the engine and exhaust. I thought we were going to refrain from the comments.

Did you get any offers for yours. Living in Yardley did you ever see the yellow one across the street from the train station at that gas station.

I used to always see the yellow one at the gas station. It's gone now.
Gave up on selling mine. It's out there, but I don't care. I'll probably just drive my M3 until it turns to dust and then make the M5 my daily driver.
