I'm guessing the widest color selection BMW ever offered was the 2002 ? Is Maisgelb (Golf?) the same yellow as that e12 ?

Some one please go and save this from a dealer lot...before I decide I have to.

1984 533i auto, looks rather nice inside, mileage not all that high although carfax shows TMU. AUTO, but for that money or less it's a swap candidate.

There seem to be more than the usual $2K worth of needs just to register / inspect it. Rear brakes, idler arm, no working heat or AC. PS pump. I'm not that handy / lack for the time to do all of that myself. Still it depresses me greatly to think this would go to the crusher looking as nice as it does.

Those wheels need to go too.

One owner, manual '79 733i on Craigslist. Very thorough and honest write-up. Link was just featured on BringaTrailer. Seems like a great deal:

From the same seller- maybe not as much of a bargain, but interesting anyway: (also a manual)

1984 BMW 745i turbo e23 - $1900 (Baltimore)
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5975074265.html

Image
Car is a 1984 745i turbo euro model. Had car for a while now and had plans to restore it. Ran great up until a few months ago the turbocharger blew up. Was in the process of rebuilding the top end of motor. Had cylinder head completely rebuilt with brand new camshaft, rocker arms, valves, seals, guides, etc. But now I have run out of funds because I needed to do repairs on my house. This is an awesome car, very solid. No rust that I have seen. Clean title. All parts are there to put back together. Only part that will need to be sourced is a new turbocharger. Asking $1900 obo. This is less than the car is worth in parts, I would just rather someone fix it than hate to see this rare car parted out.

1980 BMW 528i Excellent Original Car - $5500 (I17 and Dunlap)

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5948040972.html

Image
Ive owned this car nearly 15 years and it's always been a cherished part of my collection. I am the 3 owner and it's always been enthusiast owned since new. With that being said, I don't drive her much anymore as life and some of my interests have changed over time. Its time for me to pass her on the next custodian who will dive and care for her.

This E-12 528i is a very nice and well cared for car. She's always been stored indoors and never left outside. As rapiers have been needed she's always received correct parts and service. In the last few years the following repairs and maintenance has been preformed.

In the last 3500 Miles.
1. Transmission was rebuilt due to reverse getting weak.
2. Original exhaust was replaced with NOS parts from the Cat back.
3. New Windshield and Gasket replaced.
4. Complete tune up Wires,Cap,Rotor,Plugs etc.

In the last 1500 Miles and since I moved to Phoenix.
5. Original radiator was re-cored.
6. New water pump.
7. Rebuilt head, new gaskets and head bolts. This was instigated due to a weeping head gasket, the car was never over heated.
8.Fuel tank was removed and sealed
9.NOS fuel tank sending unit installed
10. Fuel lines replaced
11. Valve Adjustment
12. New hoses

Just before I purchased the car the front end was rebuilt and in total, Ive put less than 10K miles on the car during my ownership.

I had always planned on converting this car to a manual 5 speed and I have all the parts to properly convert her over to a manual gear box. Other than the good used 5 speed gear box and matching diff, all the other mechanical parts are new and will come with the car if sold for the asking price.

The only reason I'm selling this car is something else has caught my attention and while I'm open to offers, I"m not giving this car away. You couldn't even restore a car to this condition for 1/2 of what I"m asking so please keep that in mind. Please give me a call or text me with any questions and I'll respond promptly.

Thank You

I really really like the blue with the Alpina style wheels also. Nice combo.

But just a note to all and no intent to offend the sellers of these cars... especially colors like the blue... but if it still has it's original paint looking good beware. It may have been garage kept and look great but it will take a very short time in the sun to have the clear coat self destruct due to the age of the paint.

I bought one (blue) with shiny paint several years ago that looked very good and I don't think it took 6 months outside parking at work for it to start.

I think on the old clear coat colors you are way ahead with one that has had a good re-spray over one that is original unless you plan to stick it in the garage all the time.

This really good info, but aren't the solid colors like royal blue going to be single stage vs the metallics that are clear coated. Of course I guess any color could be have been cleared at some point.

Royalblau is a metallic. Only solid colors were single stage. In an is that was only white and red.

The third picture shows what type of quality "new paint" you get. Combine that with the garbage headlights, fake wheels and the worst tail lamps ever made, on top of the fact it will need a tranny, it's a $500 car.
