Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
Sorry. Here's how to do it:
From I-40, take SR-377 to SR-277 to SR-260. Go to Payson, Turn south onto SR-87, to Loop 202 West, which puts you right on I-10 in about 12 miles or so. In Buckeye, Take SR-85 South to Gila Bend and pick up I-8 west from there.
If you decide to take I-10 further, you could take US-95 south from Quartzite to Yuma, then I-8, pick up the Brawley Expressway from Indio to El Centro, then I-8 or take CA-60 to I-15 or I-215 and come down to San Diego that way. If you are insane, you could go all the way to the 405 and come down the 5.
I'd recommend cutting down to the 8 from SR-85 in Buckeye. Interstate 8 is actually a pretty nice drive since you don't have to put up with as much idiot traffic and there are also fewer semis. Plus, there's Yuma which seems like a Metropolis compared to Quartzite or Blythe.

If you're coming this way, lemme know, I'll show you the site. Right next to that is one of those radiator filling stations (non-potable, don't drink), and if the gas truck has come that month, you may even be able to fill up. 87 only, sorry. Guns and ammo welcome, but don't eat any of the local food. My outhouse still isn't right from Ivo's last visit.

It's not that simple, unfortunately.

Seems that I wont be able to attend this year. With the new job, I don't have any vacation days yet. Hope to make it next year. For those who haven't been to this event and manage to make it, you will not be disappoint.

I'll start a thread for a NorCal caravan and see if the usual suspects are still in.
Maybe that guy Angel will make it more than 5 miles out of the rest stop before pussing out...

No shit, a few of us are in that boat. I'm not sure the E12 is up for a 1300 mile trip, or perhaps it is, but not with me in it. Are E36s or 39s allowed?OcCoupe wrote:

Bernie said we were getting free ones anyway.
Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
No worries Mike, I'll be in the E39 this year. The M535i is up on jack stands for the foreseeable future (well, next 5-6 months anyway).Mike W. wrote:No shit, a few of us are in that boat. Hey, it's really about the party anyway, right? (Hell, Devinder showed up in a Ferrari last year).

They let me and my pos attend. Out of respect, I parked on the outskirts of the group at the marina though. Didn't want to soil any pictures of nice cars.Mike W. wrote:No shit, a few of us are in that boat. I'm not sure the E12 is up for a 1300 mile trip, or perhaps it is, but not with me in it. It was the first test of the freshly swapped in m52b28/5 speed/lsd rear end. Did great, and who needs AC, not us! This guy didn't complain at all.

I'm trying to make St Paddy's day my yearly event to visit, so far it's been 3 years in a row and 2016 is booked!
New people are coming over (the old ones didn't dare to come again....
)
Both are friends and both are co-workers.
Arjen is a newbie to BMW's and doesn't drive one, but comes along for the fun.
Christiaan was at 5erFest Reno and owns a few E28's, plus a track car with an M60B40
We will be driving the M5 that CEK is watching down to Sandy Eggo, I needed a nickname for her, so why not call her CEKS
See you guys in March! And YES I will be bringing parts again! Thread will be started in a moment....

Cool, I remember talking to Christiaan in Reno, nice guy.

Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
It seems a shame to not have any shirts for the 15th Anniversary. I would entertain taking it on if we went with a design we've already used (with updated dates of course). I just think it's kind of late in the game to get something new designed, approved and printed without being it turing into a fire drill. I like the design last used for the 10th Anniversary shirts in 2011. Simple, classic.
If someone else wants to volunteer though...
2011, 10th Anniversary shirts.

Thanks for doing this Charles. I just don't have the time or enough colors in my rainbow to make this happen this year, perhaps next year. Next year can be Year of the Dahndelions!
