Maybe it's mentioned somewhere in the thread but I didn't see it. :dunno:

L.J.
The FB links take you to the event.
October 14 - 16 are the official dates though.

Yeah this is the earliest we've ever started The Event thread,
but since L.J. will have such a long haul,
he politely asked for a whole bunch of advance notice.
Since the location had been secured since last year's event,
I thought, what the hell, let's do this.
If you think it might seriously happen,
getting your room reservation in,
or at least your name on the waiting list,
might not he such a bad idea
due to limited local accommodations.

We'd be honored to have you guys attend.

We could link up with Adam in AZ if you do go. The more the merrier! Most likely I'll be in the 7 as the 5 will be down for the count by that time. :haul:

New MISSION STATEMENT! Find this chick & hang her on our wall in Leakey! I bare no responsibility for my actions after a few Lonestars.

I'm so desperate for Lonestar that I opened the can in my basement sitting there since we got back from the last one and downed it! Not terrible...

Time for a cold one, Joe's trans is finished for his 745i complete with full V12 guts.

Pics show new pump bushing, stronger OD planet, larger forward planet, stronger OD sprag, stronger C1/C one way clutch, new sealing rings for center support's sun gear shaft, and high quality Raybestos clutches... no offshore garbage installed here! We did use Alto performance clutches for A and F drums, also tightened up C1/C clearance using all 2.10mm steels and tightened up E and F to ~0.030" :D

Now his trans has five direct (B) clutches and three intermediate (C) clutches. All else is standard fare six for A, two for C1, five for D, four for E and F.

Looks good Eric! I'm jumping out of my skin with excitement!

Having my car back on the road, and having the strongest possible case that will keep safaribeige running for years to come.

Truly, Thank you for being so gracious, and also for dealing with all my B.ernie S.anders.

You are the man!

If the car is running/driving and in good shape mechanically...yes.

I still have lots to do between now and then.

We shall see.

I hear ya.

Once I have what I need It shouldn't be a problem getting it ready.

Looks like:

Trans - Install and road test
PS hoses...Maybe a rebuild of the pump
Turbo drain hose
Dial in AFR
Get vac to right level. RN at 15
Parasitic drain fix
Maybe do front struts and springs...Time and money...

Wish me luck. Hope to see you dudes this year!

Unrelated to my 10/84 car I plan to bring, but...

Finally started a fully documented 86,000 mile M106 that has been idle for nearly 12 years. Yes, I fogged the hell out of the cylinders for days before attempting this...it also needed a new speed sensor, so naturally I replaced both. This is running of some starting fluid as the fuel system is not complete yet.

Are we still having a raffle deal? I have located lots of odds and ends to put in this year, not a measly shift knob like last year!
