I'm no relationship expert but isn't this something you'd run by your significant other BEFORE bidding?

No. But in general, I would *think* that it would attract slightly better buyers (or would-be buyers) than an eBay auction.

Hmmmm, they charge $250......even if it doesn't sell. And on the surface, I'm not excited about having a bunch of Dbags commenting how they do under the auction. I think I'll try eBay once more.

Then BaT will update the other listing and your "dbags" will talk tales of shill bidding and "ha! I knew it wasn't going to actually sell. Haha! I am winnar!"

Something to remember is that the commenters generally don't buy cars. They are the noise factor.

yeah, I don't think there descriptions are nearly detailed enough tho......my ebay auction had over 9500 views and almost 500 people "saved" it.....I'm gonna write the guy at BaT and ask how many views my profile had......

The commenters usually have had a lot more experience and a lot more cars than the cheerleaders. It takes both to try to keep a sale reasonably honest. I have become extremely skeptical of the "bidding"process.

Ok, the guy from BaT who was trying to get me to list with them never responded to my request for how many views my profiled received so I have relisted it on eBay.

Wish me luck guys.

Email sent. Wow, it went to $19,900 in 24 hours...I suspect it's people trying to feel out the reserve...with 6 days left I'm excited to see where it'll go.

I bid on the green e30 touring that was up last month. BAT adds 3 minutes to the action every bid (if there are less than 3 minutes remaining of course) to prevent last second snipers.

I put in a bid with a minute left only to defund out the seller cancelled the auction because the reserve wasn't met (it's not published if there is or is not a reserve). BAT put the current high bidder in contact with the seller and completely ignored my email and Facebook message to them and deleted the comment I left in the auction asking the seller to contact me. Pretty annoying on my end.

As for the $2k a service comments above... My 2006 jetta TDi cost more in annually than my e28 M5.

Yeah, I am pretty excited. The final winning bid came in 6 seconds before the end of the auction. I won't release the name as I haven't been in contact yet....but I will say he's in Indiana and promptly sent the deposit....so it would seem he's good to follow through.

Ohio. This isn't the kind of car they buy though.

So is this conformation that it sold for $100 shy of $25K? if so I may need to reevaluate my pricing.

That is correct....the first auction bid to $22,300 and the second to $24,900.

Nicely done! You have to be happy with the outcome of events. The market is taking notice to the quality of car this really is.
BTW- did anyone notice what the "other" M5 (around the time of your previous auction) went for?

I'm not sure which other one you're referring to....but if you go to ebay and search under M5, you can filter to "oldest" and then click on the left...."completed listings" and see.

It would appear the prices have doubled just in the last 2 years.......and yes, I'm thrilled with the price....I even have a back up buyer "just in case". It's not just BMW's tho.......looking through the BaT auctions......there are two Mustang Fastbacks (sold this month) that are NO more quality than the one I sold 4 years ago for $40,000 on eBay......one of them went for $56,000 and one for $60,000 so desirable cars in general seem to be increasing in value right now.

Thanks!
