Not sure about my oil pressure, but i had the same thought, and according my to my reading (I may be wrong), the chain at start up only relies on the tensioner, then after oil pressure builds (after a few seconds), that helps to quiet it down. i would think then, if i had poor oil pressure, the chain would be noisy at start up, and would keep being noisy since the oil pressure would be inadequate. but that's not exactly what i hear on my m5.
at start up it's quiet, then maybe 45 seconds to 1min in, the chain starts slapping. this lasts for maybe 1 minute or 2, then it quiets back down. after the car is at operating temp, the chain is dead silent.
i captured more audio, but i guess in hindsight, it doesnt really help. im sure many of you are familiar with the sound, one way or another. here it is anyway (windy, but the slap is much more audible than my previous post):
