I've purchased quite a bit from Todd. In adition to that, he spent hours with me on the phone giving live tech support with my turbo build, and sent me special loaner tools to tune the beast, for free......
Move on dude, maybe over to r3v where this kinda of shit is welcome.

Even if he purposefully screwed you, he has done too much good to have that one instance stain his reputation.
You just beacme Todd's personal campaign manager for free.
TCD for president......

Oh yeah, who likes ketchup on their eggs?

Clearly an honsest mistake by a reputable board member. Sometimes we assume that sellers are out to screw buyers. Change your mindset. In this case, our world has evolved into a better place. Thanks Todd.

Wow, you're a dick. And even though I've never met you in person I'm confident in my assessment. Let me get this straight...

1. Todd posted something for sale, but the description did not match the photo shown.
2. You recognized this fact and thought it would be a good opportunity to take advantage of someone a make some $$$ on the back end.
3. During the process someone else (with a soul) tipped Todd off about his mistake (or he figured it out on his own).
4. Todd acknowledged that he had made an error and offered a refund.
5. You threw a tantrum because your evil plan was foiled.
6. You rationalized that a public shaming of one of the most upstanding members of the E28 community would further your cause.
7. Your little plan backfired.

You see, I MIGHT give you the benefit of the doubt if you also were not aware that what was shown was not what was described. But it's pretty apparent you knew exactly what had happened. Then you opted to start a thread calling him out. That pretty much sealed the deal - dick it is!

I wonder if the OP noticed that T_C_D started the Buyer/Seller Feedback thread in the parts dept?

Isn't that where he should have posted this one? Would have gotten a lot less air play.

I thought about suggesting that the OP ought to just have a beamter delete this thread, but its entertainment factor shot up and... It needs to stay.

I've bought from Todd once, and would do it again. We need more sellers like Todd and fewer buyers like Brickboi.

I wonder if Todd has blushed at all reading through this thread.

Seems like this thread was a stupendously bad idea as it exposes the OP for the unscrupulous opportunist he obviously is.
For all of the differences of opinion on this board, one thing we all agree on is that to remain in good standing here you have to operate with some level of integrity or your time here will be brief and painful.

Consider this a learning moment.

Amazing topic this.

All the above may be true, but the simple fact is that TCD was more than happy with the original deal until some nosey parker came along and upset the deal. Whats done is done. Perhaps TCD should pay the person he acquired the item off originally, its true value, rather than putting it into some fund or other.

^^^^^Very well said. I have thought this since the thread started. This site is more than just a stop on Google for parts and info. I have made some good friendships with a couple local members here and met many more going to car events near and far. Todd has made many connections here through his business and parting out vehicles. This site is free to all and calling out a known good member here and trying to embarrass him is a sure way to get known as someone who doesn't deserve advice or parts for sale even if you are the first in line to respond to the ad.

Todd said he would donate the money to the maintenance fund here. Todd's action shows who he is and I hope Brickwhite stays with a lesson learned on how not to post. I was happy to pay a fair price for the tool knowing what it was and supporting T_C_D and the website.

I fart in your general direction.

I think we all are finding this entertaining because anyone who has done business with him knows he is one of the better sellers on this board. I have sold a few things here and there, and although accuracy is the responsibility of the seller- TCD sure does offer a whole lot of parts to this board, and many pics have multiple parts and multiple pics in ea thread- I'm sure this might be confusing at times even for the best on here. Mistakes are human.

My experience? Good prices ( yep I said it), instant shipping with tracking and expertly packed. Works for me. Thanks TCD, keep up the great work with this forum and community.

Huh???

What if said spark-plug wrench came with the tool kit of a car that TCD bought new? By your logic, he should be sharing his fantastic profits with BMW NA.

Supply and demand. Buy low - Sell high. It's how the world works.

My take on the whole subject -
TCD thought he was selling something different. Honest mistake. OP got his money back, but is still butt-hurt. OP should have left well enough alone.

Several really cool things happened as a result of this thread that you guys should know about. One crazy board member from San Diego sent me $30 via Paypal saying "you sold me "xxxxx" too cheap and I don't want to be like bricklayer". Probably a joke but still awesome. I refunded the $30 of course. Then a local mye28 member and friend who works at my shop on occasion sent me a text. "Hey Todd, remember when you said I could grab whatever tools I wanted from the rusty tool bin? One of the pieces I took is one of those m5 spark plug tools. I thought it was a m30 tool. I'll return it next time I see you."

Pretty cool. This is really a great club. Best I have ever belonged too. I don't take lightly that a big part of my livelihood is earned selling parts both new and used on this site and to members of this site. Thanks Guys!

Well I guess we all need to thank brickwhite for bringing this up. Maybe he can scrape together the funds to get that other M5 wrench when it is made available.

That 30 you got, more for the mye28 kitty? Up to the OS to decide that now that you have returned the funds.

So Thanks Brickwhite. Great Thread.

Not sure if I understand this sh_t storm. As far as I can tell, there was an agreement made on the price for this tool by both buyer and seller and then the deal got cancelled by the seller who then sold it to someone else because the seller realized, after the fact, that the item was worth more than he thought? I don't understand how this is being justified as being OK. Maybe I'm just missing something. If I am, kindly enlighten me.

Tool was pictured with a bunch of random 535i/m30 tools and described as such. After being pointed out that the tool was a m5 tool, I told the buyer about my mistake and offered the correct m30 tool. He had a massive tantrum so I refunded his money. Thus the shit storm. M5 tool was then sold and $$ donated to the mye28 maintenance fund. If that doesn't clear things up for you then nothing will. I wouldn't expect everyone to agree with my decision but it's long over now.
