My thoughts: Great color combo (one of my favorites). Appears to be very nice and yes, I think it'd sell for more assuming no rust, accident history, etc. but not much info is given. Definitely worth a close look. While we're looking at places to retire I think I'll check out Mapleton, UT; I'm not far enough from L.A.

Should be interesting. Given what I spent on restoring/ improving the mechanicals, I can certainly speak to the mechanical condition. Looks like some additional changes (sound system, coilovers, 3.91 diff,AC redone dfor the umpteenth time etc.) since I sold it. I am sure Andrew spared no expense in taking it the car to what he wanted. Not sure ebay is the right market platform for the car, but that said, I think if the EAG cars are in the 80K range, this car should bring a serious premium to those.

This car will be on BAT soon and it will be interesting to see what it brings in. Its a good benchmark/indicator for the E28 M5 market.

I have no idea what autocheck says, but the documentation on the car is fairly thorough. It had just under 100k on it when I bought it from Ron P and about 108k when I had the top end rebuilt, converted simplex to duplex, etc. I don't really remember, but best guess is that it had 115k or so when I sold it, all according to the odometer. The way the current owner drives it, I would doubt if he has put more than 5-7k on the car.

Not really. It's a European specification car, so it's a bit of an outlier. I wouldn't be surprised if it were repatriated, shame though that would be.

Very rare opportunity to own a piece of motorsports history. This is one of only 10 examples of the AHG version of the BMW M1. It features M1 Procar-style body work, upgraded horsepower at 350 and tri-color livery. This vehicle is all original and unrestored with no aftermarket parts or upgrades. Specs and features include a 350 bhp, 3,453 cc M88 DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection, five-speed manual transmission, front and rear dual A-arm independent suspension with coil springs, and four-wheel disc brakes. BMW Motorsport initially planned to build enough M1s to meet the regulation for Group 5; however, rule changes by Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile (FISA) required a minimum of 400 examples be built to meet Group 4 regulations before the car could be homologated for Group 5. Rather than delay their racing program, BMW decided to create a one-make series while they continued further development. The Procar Championship was announced in the spring of 1978, along with the official unveiling of the M1 road car. While the Procar series only lasted two seasons, from 1979 to 1980, its popularity was undeniable. With their flared fenders, imposing front spoiler, massive rear wing, and incredible power, the M1’s presence on the race track left a lasting impression.

I've owned a 2000 528i since 2006 and now my 80 year old dad drives it. Of 20+ BMWs I've owned over the years, it may not be the most powerful, but overall, it's a very balanced, not to mention comfortable and civilized, and it can get up and go. It's been the most reliable bimmer I've ever owned by far. Put a set of Bilsteins, 17" wheels, maybe some mild lowering springs, an M3 steering wheel, a K&N filter cone, a decent aftermarket head unit/speakers upgraded sound system, and a Remus exhaust on that bad boy, and you still haven't spent more than $6,500. That engine goes forever if properly taken care of. A heluva lot of car for the money, if you ask me.

Not a car, but this guy has been trying to sell these wheels for over 2 years on the MN craigslist site. Actually they were under $2k at one point, but mysteriously he decided to increase his odds of selling them by raising the price.
