Re: New E12
I could be wrong, but I don't think he meant it as an insult.
Re: New E12
So, what suspension came off the car? Didn't look stock and I might be interested...
Re: New E12
Thirty six year old Bilstein inserts and shocks - 3 of them the seals had given up long ago. Springs were cut originals.wkohler wrote:So, what suspension came off the car? Didn't look stock and I might be interested...

Re: New E12
Thanks for all the nice comments.
I updated the deep dish pizza steering wheel to the only style I really like and its a BMW wheel.

I'm still on the fence about the euro bumpers.
Drive train upgrade is next.

Re: New E12
Not meant as an insult at all but that profile shot with it sitting so low and the dropped rear shape of the e12 made me think of the J30.ffracer wrote:Wow.....really, Infiniti?? I like e12s and i think yours loks great but im not a fan of an extreme drop and i think it looks more severe with the shape of cars like the e12 and e23.
I like a little bit of rake on these because of thw lines of the car. That includes the e28 due to the difference in the cut of the fenders front and rear.
Re: New E12
Agreed, the trunk line is a bit frumpy and was definitely improved on the E28. I have an inch and a half of rake in the car for that reason and may go more.WilNJ wrote:Not meant as an insult at all but that profile shot with it sitting so low and the dropped rear shape of the e12 made me think of the J30.ffracer wrote:Wow.....really, Infiniti?? Re: New E12
I like the color and wheels, I agree with Chris, it's slightly too low for me.
Is the gauge pod in your dashboard tray the one offered by BMP Design in TX?

Re: New E12
I'm not sure of the manufacture, but it is not the one offered by BMP. This was installed in 1978 when the Callaway turbo kit was installed. This is one of the things I'm going to change, not quite sure how yet though.Adam W in MN wrote:I like the color and wheels, I agree with Chris, it's slightly too low for me.

I'd love to find a nice set of Scheel seats at a reasonable price that I could have covered to match the rear, other than that there's not much to do inside. Oh, I need the manual transmission console cover if any has one available. I'm not sure if the entire console requires changing or just the cover?
Thanks.
Re: New E12
The sides of the console and the shifter surround.
Re: New E12
I really like it. I look forward to seeing it the spring/summer.

With your help, we'll put a new spin on a 70's turbo design!!
Re: New E12
Great looking car brother.
I have very nice set of slighty used long tube ceramic coated Stahl headers that came off an 81 E12 when they did an s38 swap. I had purchased them to install on my M535I only to discover that I would have to hack up one of them to retrofit and probably hinder performance. PM or Email me if you have any interest.
All the Best

Re: New E12
I'd be all over that if I was going naturally aspirated, but since the car has been a turbo its whole life...I'm just going to update a little.GBel wrote:Great looking car brother.

Re: New E12
Sharp looking ride! Cant wait to see it boosted!
Re: New E12
Bee-yootiful. A tasteful retro mod. I prefer the lines of the E 12 compared to the E 28.
Re: New E12
Looks good, I like the way it sits.
