Hydroboost?: Braking/Power Steering Troubles

The e28 528e has a vacuum boost system. Even my e34 535 has vacuum boost and have not noticed any problems even with the turbo. There are 535 folks here that have switched to a vacuum booster and have documented the process. If you have some mechanical skills I would say it's entirely doable.

I do have a spare regulator/bomb setup that's just sitting on the shelf gathering dust. I have no use for it. Let me know if you want it. Pay shipping and it's yours.

I'll have to remember that, thank you! What psi are you running? I'm wastegated at 10 on an HX35. The vacuum brake system works ok with the turbo though? And I totally appreciate the offer for the bomb. I am going to go try to narrow the problem down more, and if it happens to be that I will definitely take you up on that.

Took the high pressure line off of the pressure flow valve above the brake bomb. Started the engine up.. nothing..

Thought maybe by chance the line was clogged.

Took the banjo bolt off of the pump, topped the reservoir off while it was draining still, fired it up, and the fluid still was just waterfalling out of the high pressure port. Fluid didn't even get airborn.

Going to pick and pull again either tomorrow or this weekend to get a used OEM pump and going to try that.

Just to post a solution.

Auto zone power steering pumps suck.

Both (2) pumps I ordered from them were bad. Got an OEM one at pick and pull today and it works great.

Any of you guys run into not being able to get the lower screen out? There is no second clip on my oil strainer above the spring, only the one holding the upper strainer. It came some of the way up but now it won't go up or down and seems very loose. P.O. did NO maintenance on 88 635 (M30), so I have no idea where to start. Pumping the brakes with the vehicle off does not change my fluid level at all. No PS problems whatsoever, but just did a complete brake because the fronts were dragging to the point of stuck. New MC, new calipers, new hoses, but still have the car on JS's. Thought to change the PS filter before "test drive"
