On another note, the coolant consumption is dire. I go through an expansion tank a day. Fill it up every morning.

This morning I was in a rush and forgot to fill it. We got into the red pulling into work, 15 minute drive from home.

Shit.

I may have found a 535i/5 driveshaft for what I want to pay, so hopefully it pans out and I don't have to go back to DDing the Rovah with it's dying heater blower motor.

Yay! Nabbed these off ebay since my dogs like to try to climb from the back to the passenger seat.

Now, about fixing the holders to the roof. Anyone done this personally? I found a site in the UK with some pics, but they weren't very specific about measurements, etc.

The headliner has perforated spots that punch out. The roof should have the attachment points behind those. My black car came with them (I had to buy them thanks to stupid POs despite having multiple parchment sets) so I might be able to show you a photo of where to look. Pretty simple though. Go straight up from where they are now and straight up from where they are with the seats down.

Hmm.....shouldn't be too hard then. The only place I found pics (some UK 5er site) had the guy cutting the pieces out to install the hangers, but I got a general idea where they go.

Many many many many thanks to Paul for helping, providing parts, and generally wasting his entire weekend with me doing this. Started Friday at 5:45 and got it all together by Sunday at 9:30. We pressed on over many hurdles but got it together. Just have to install the cooling system, exhaust, and rewire the X20 connector. Taking a B35 that has been converted to work in an e28 and putting it back into an e34 is harder than you think.

Haven't touched the AC. Haven't even hung the compressor yet.

I think I wanna use the M50 compressor as the lines are the same, but it's not a V belt pulley.

So I'm on the fence about just having lines made and running an M30 compressor.

Thanks 4:10 rear diff! 3500 at 80mph, but mash the gas and it fucking goes. So so so much better than that anemic M50 turd burglar and that GM France autotragic.

As I was backing it into the shop reverse decided to no exist anymore. Slipped it into R and it started rolling forward, then SLAM!, caught, revved to 3500 and crept into the shop, screaming. Done lol.

Reminiscing, this was one of my favorite pics of my old Touring. The yellow oem E34 fog lenses, HIDS, and 18" Style 32's were so choice, I loved the look of that car.

Yep I had it built (check out my web site for info) and sold it to Tammer to get an E39 540i 6spd.

I'm still collecting covers and misc pieces to tidy it all up. Have to wrap the harness where I had to splice the x20 connector in. Apparently 1994 was the bitch year to try to swap things in since then made a ton of changes in the starting system. We got it though.

Just figured out the ABS I think. 525 runs it through the X20, but the 735 (harness we used) runs it through the X79, a four pin connector in the E box. So tonight I should have working ABS.

Still chugging along at 240k miles or so. Getting some love this summer: new brakes all around, probably shocks. Unfortunately the dual sunroof finally shit the bed for good, so that needs attention. Front end needed a respray before, and needs it worse now. But you can't kill this thing--it will always get you from A to B (which is more than I can say about my E53 ...).

On another note, I'm getting 20mpg highway with a G260/6 and 4:10 open diff. Chipped 179 ECU, 93 octane.

WHUU. I thought this was pretty damn good for the setup I have.

Swapping in a 3:15 open tonight, hopefully.
