first post on here! need a little help.
thanks ron ur very forgiving and informative
. i suck at wireing well just not super familar with it. ok so im goin to go out and check wiring contuity from pins 14 and 15 to the plug in the engine bay. also the high pressure fuel pump is a msd 1015 275lph pump thats brand new.ill report back asap.ohhh yea and i searched for the fuse in the trunk because iv owned 10+ e30s couldnt find one. because theres not one lol
that was your contribution to this thread? ever used your phone to post? i forget is this english class? alright back on subject.... i do not have any breaks in the 14 or 15 pins from ecm to injector connector. also i verified that the flywheel has the magnet/metal piece still attached.so the system should read reference and it has ground and power to the injectors... i put a axtra ground on the ecm. iv been grounding the shit out of everything. i hear that is the weak spot in the motronic system.still have spark because it will run when fuel is put in intake. any other thoughts?

Actually I find it difficult to follow what you're trying to convey. I don't own a cell phone and grew up in an era when writing involved paper and a certain amount of formality, so you can lay the blame for my incomprehension on my inability (or stubborn refusal) to adapt if you like.bmw4ever wrote:that was your contribution to this thread? ever used your phone to post? i forget is this english class?
I know you said you had fuel flow, but...bmw4ever wrote:alright back on subject.... i do not have any breaks in the 14 or 15 pins from ecm to injector connector. also i verified that the flywheel has the magnet/metal piece still attached.so the system should read reference and it has ground and power to the injectors... i put a axtra ground on the ecm. iv been grounding the shit out of everything. i hear that is the weak spot in the motronic system.still have spark because it will run when fuel is put in intake. any other thoughts?
- Could you check the voltage on the fuel pump side of fuse 1 relative to ground while you crank? That's the side of the fuse toward the front of the car. It should be at 12V.
- Also, could you check the resistance of that point relative to ground when the car is off? I don't know what that resistance should be, but it should reflect the fact that there's a motor there. If it's infinite or measured in kiloohms you have a problem.
- If the resistance looks plausible, try disconnecting the in-tank fuel pump and checking the resistance again. (The in-tank pump connection is under a handy circular screw-down panel in the trunk.) If the resistance is suddenly infinite, that tells us the regular pump isn't working.

It'd be best to do a pressure check, as stated above you may have 'plenty of fuel' as in volume, but be lacking in the pressure ultimately required to run the car. If there is alot of crap in the fuel lines, blocked the filter, that may be the source of you problems. If a noid light flashes when cranking, you're all good on the wiring side of the injectors, and it runs when you supply fuel, so we've narrowed it down to the fuel supply here. I'd try to get a pressure gauge to tee into the system, do a pressure check, and then do a proper volume test. If i recall you want approximately 1 litre per minute, thought with an aftermarket pump you should have no problems exceeding that.
