Spax springs, Bilstein sport shocks.

There's still a slight gap at the front, but I do want to turn ;)
How does it ride? Looks really good.

Update!

So the car had a fiberglass E39 M5 replica bumper on it.... I wanted to burn it with hellfire!

I know the pic sucks, it's from the previous owner.
Image

Fortunately the PO had the OEM bumper and it was painted to match the car. So I installed it yesterday. Unfortunately it was getting dark, so this was the best I could do for a pic.

Image

The parts list is starting to grow. Here are the parts on order that should be here tomorrow and thursday.

Euro trim for front and rear bumpers
OEM projector fogs and brackets
ZHP weighted shift knob
Mtech II steering wheel
door handles surrounds for all 4 doors
540 front brake ducts (I think I am going to send these back and go with a Reiger lip)
Rear dog bones
E60 545i ssk from "Clevertd" (thanks buddy!)

I found a set of NEX coilovers local for a very good price. I think I am going to give them a try. They have the updated rear lower mounts which is good news. They are also already welded to a set of strut tubes. So if I decide I don't like them I can easily swap back to my existing suspension and figure something else out.

I'm still on the fence about the seats. I may just throw the Recaro's in and see how I like them since I have a set of E36 bases I could modify to fit.

The next time you're in the area you need to swing by the house for a beer.

Looks great! Thanks for buying it. I was considering it for a while lol

You can probably still get the M-Sport front bumper brand new from the dealership, if you want to go that route. I have always preferred that on wide grille. If just after a lip, I could suggest volvo lip.

Please don't do a Volvo lip. Looks so dumb.

Actually, when the car is low enough, the stock bumper looks nice.

I can get the M5 or Msport bumpers new. But it's hard to justify the price once I factor in painting it. I may go with the Rieger front lip. At $199 shipped its a hard deal to pass up.

Update time!

I wired up a few resistor's to get rid of my SRS light in my cluster. Much better!

Image

I also installed a Rieger front lip

Image

And last but not least..... One of my co worker's decided to hit my car and not leave a note.....

Image

So it looks like the paint correction is going to happen sooner than later. All of their paint came off but the bumper has some deep scratches. Going to get a quote this week on getting it fixed along with some other paint issues.

Can you share what you did to clear the SRS light? I would love to get rid of mine. I like the Rieger lip.

I cut the orange airbag connector from the slip ring and wired 3, 1 ohm 1/2 watt resistors in parallel to trick the srs module to think the steering wheel airbag is still in place. Then cleared the faults from the SRS module.

Oh, okay. I have a different issue being a '95. Mine is with the passenger airbag after I put the manual sports in.

Either way, thanks for that.

Sorry to see the damage to your car. Assuming from your comment about the paint transfer, do you know who it was that hit your car?

Mine is also a 95. What issue are you having with the manual seats causing a SRS light?

There are a few white cars that park in that lot. All of them are beat to crap so I can't really tell who it was. Nobody is admitting fault so i'm SOL on that front. The dealership may pay for the repairs, but i'm not holding my breath....

Try this, works on E39 passenger seat sensor.
Simulating occupied seat.

I think that's basically what I bought, just packaged a little neater ;)

Come to find out it plugs into the airbag module under the seat that went to the dumps with the seats years ago

Now I'm on the hunt for an airbag module to plug in, so I can trick it into thinking there's a mat in the seat

Your car is really coming along nicely!!

The dealership decided to not pay for the repairs (not surprised) and I can't get in touch with the person I was going to buy the coilovers from. I may just pick up a set of new BC racing coilovers.

I'm waiting on turbo dan's dyno time to see if playing with cam timing makes a big improvement. I have access to M62 jig's at work so it would be pretty simple.

I also tried installing a B&B exhaust but quickly realized the pipes were 2" diameter and my car has 2 1/4" pipes stock. So it's not a 540 exhaust after all. Fortunately clevertd gave me the exhaust to try out without any commitments. But now I'm on the hunt for a aftermarket exhaust.
