but, to be fair, sounds like he's done the work it needed (including now pending the hail damage) that I was not incredibly keen on doing if the net sale proceeds would be equal (which appeared to be the likely case for me unless I did the work myself & I don't have time...)...which is all to say I have no clue what the back-story is, but by my (now, arguably unbiased) esteem it's a good car!
