The E28 arrived back from the body shop today. They did a pretty good job, especially removing the quarter sized rust spot next to the passenger side strut tower.
I am finishing up work on my E21 and then I will get back to putting the fuel supply parts on the E28. The E21 needs a water pump, alternator, heater valve, radiator hoses, and a few more cosmetic parts.

Thanks! I am really pleased with the work and now I can finally get these fuel parts back on.
I spoke with them about repainting the car and they said $10k to re-paint the car starting by removing all paint down to bare metal... I don't plan on spending $10k anytime soon for a paint job however when the mechanical work is done this car is getting new paint.
I am very close to finishing up my E21 and then getting the E28 back on the road should be fairly quick. Within 2 months I will start work on the E28.
Below is a photo I took today of both cars in the garage:
I am working on obtaining any remaining parts needed to get the E28 back on the road. When I removed the fuel tank for this car I was planning on buying all new parts so I didn't keep the old tank.
Looking at the realoem diagram I see a part 6 which is NLA and no part listed:
