I agree they can earn a good living, The unfortunate aspect of this position for the horticulture degree holder is the line for a turf manager position is endless, in most cases those employed are in possession of advanced credentials involving chemistry, botany & landscape architecture, like my wife.

It's a closed highly competitive field, little attrition filled with individuals having lived their professional lives on the course and are well known for their expertise by those course GM's.

I would say with all due respect, an individuals chances of flying an Apache are at least 1000 x more likely than securing one of the top 5 PGA jobs in this field.

You know very little about the Tiger lineage. The Tiger body was built to be a Tiger from day one.....they were assembled at the Jenson factory, not on the Sunbeam line. Many man hours of hand built work went into each car. I would say much more that the E28 M5 for comparison.

In 1965 a Cobra was $6000, a Tiger was $3600.

As far as speed, the 1966 427 Cobra ran a 12.4 1/4 mile. My Tiger has done it in 12.2 thus far. Tigers eat snakes!

My older brother retired some years ago while involved in the Longbow Apache design program as the Army Aviation rep. This was after his stint as the lead crash investigator of the safety group stationed @ Rucker I believe, not sure though might have been Campbell.

When he retired from active duty he was hired as a project manager by the defense contractor adapting the avionics to the Apache airframe. Basically took the same position he held in the Army, as a civilian. He's a History degree holder with the same Masters from Riddle you hold.

He retired after 4yrs enlisted & 26 years commissioned, 30 yrs total service.. Thanks for yours!

And thank you. I am sure I may have run into your brother over the past five years as I have worked with the Apache guys quite a bit for upgrading my simulator to try to stay current with the Apache fleet. Not an easy thing to do!

As for tiger lineage. It's a Roots product, plain and simple. The bodies were built by Jensen, and......so what? Jensen also built the early Volvo P1800 chassis and their work was considered so substandard Volvo pulled the production from them to build them in house. Does that make a tiger special in some way? No. Rootes just sub-contracted another manufacturer to build the car, No biggie. This was common at that time. Jensen did a lot of prototyping for the British car industry.

Since a cobra was 2x the price of a tiger in 1965... a cobra must have been 2x the car to drive then. Now 40+ years later it's even more obvious that the cobra is WAY more car than a tiger could ever hope to be. Prices reflect this.... Cobra $300,000-$5,500,000, Tiger $20,000- $80,000.

Show me the auction results for the tigers sold for over $100K,. In recent memory one was on Ebay with asking $125K, and didn't sell. Anyone can ASK a price, getting it is another thing. $80K is tops I could find on SCM. (platinum subscriber). If you have auction results or other sales to back up the higher price, please post for all to see.

PS: only 10 tigers in attendence? I mean 2 years ago at the Maryhilll concours in WA there were almost 30 in attendance. Even last years ABFM I remember seeing around 20. Winning awards means nothing as I've won dozens for my cars over the years and what does that have to do with anything I said BTW? So you have a clean car, so what? What does that mean to anyone but yourself? NOTHING! It has nothing to do with Cobras being "shitty" sports cars, does it?

My Imp won 2nd place of all the cars at last years ABFM (All British Field Meet) in Portland, OR. Around 800 cars/trucks in attendance. A DB5 Aston Martin took top honors. My little $5,000 Imp 2nd of all cars there.

Does the Imp community now triumph my win? Does it matter to anyone? I can honestly say, my Imp was the fastest one on the field that day too! It's not stock, but I have all the parts to return it that way. The work can be done over a summer!

Sunbeam Imps are the best sports cars ever! :-) Not like all those other "shitty" cars that other people drive.

Again so what does it matter? 10, 20, 40? It's still just a Sunbeam tiger..... it's just a car. A V8 powered Sunbeam Alpine bult by the Rootes Group. It was the last hurrah for that body style before Chysler took the reins and killed it.
