I'm in a bit of a dilemma, regarding the seats in my car.

As it's now, i have the original backseats and some big ass adjustable Recaros up front. I was gonna have both front and rear recovered in black Alcantara, but havn't gotten so far yet.

Now comes the tricky part! Just got a e34 m5 Alcantara Individual interior offered, so now i dont know what i like the most.

I like the recaros (If i could find some Scheel mann's, it would be awsome!) but maybe they are a bit over the top? The e34 seats look really clean compared.

What do you guys think, help a member out

BTW, the horrible hood and bonnet got taken of the day after i toke those pics

i know of a few people here who would buy the e34 interior if you choose not to use.

Just as a base line, what would a fair value for The m5 Seats be?

The car is b-e-a-utiful! And I am super jelly of the wheels. Only 20 mm of ground clearance?! Wow you must have way nicer roads over there than in Chicagoland, I would have already been through three oil pans.

Replace the m-tech cloth inserts with porn magazine cutouts, and you'll get my thumbs up. And by thumbs I mean penis.

Yep, only 20mm, BUT i'm running a skidplate, otherwise i would have smashed several oil pans, the skidplate skrapes if the road curves, it's damn low. But it's not my daily, if it was it would not be this low with the shitty roads we have here where i live!

And just to sum up, that bonnet and trunk is not on the car anymore, actually sold the trunk to another e28 driver here in denmark

Good looking car, it all works well together.

So today there was finally time for a new entry in the store of my car but, sadly not a happy one!

Havn't had any spare time the last couple of months to get some work done to either this or my e23 project

The story is, that on my last drive of the year (couple of months ago) a strange ratling sound ctarted to come from the engine, so had to get the car home on a flatbed, that sucked!

At the time i thought it was a broken rocker arm, the sound could fit the problem. But didn't have time to look at it, so put the car aside.

Today i had the time to look at it, started by takeing the valvecover off, BUT nothing was broken or any slack any where, so my haert sank and was thinking is there was problems deeper in the engine. Then i noticed small aluminium skaveings all over the engine bay and eventually saw that there was a hole in the gearbox bell housing

Took the gearbox of and this is what i found

My preesure plate had gone, one of the small hardend steel springs was broken and had caused all the damage!

So now i have to find money for a new preesure plate plus get the bellhousing fixed

OUCH I had the same failure on my car this past summer while at a drivers school. Sachs blamed the failure on Hooning. damage to my bell housing wasn't nearly as severe.

The clutch only has 5000km on it, i put in a new clutch 3 years ago when i put in the b32 engine -.-

Maybe my trip to the dragstrip with toyo semi slicks this summer, was to much for the pressure plate

So after a good trade i now have the parts i need, to mend the car

I got my hands on a Sachs Performance clucth kit, rated at about 550+ nm, so should be more than enough for my car.

One of my mates had some m30 gearboxes laying around with a beelhousing that should be the same as mine (Did not pick it up yet)

Will post some pictures when i start putting the drivetrain back together

found a guy online that had a lot of BMW parts, but sold the car he had. So he just wanted to get rid of it, i ended up trading a set of ATS cup 15x7 wheels for all his parts.

Parts i got
- Complete m30b35
- Sachs performance clutch
- A bunch of turbo pipeing, incl a blow off
- 2x 745i wastegates (One modified)
- 16 brand new rocker arms
- various gaskets and oilfilter
- s38 crank
- e32 oilcooler
- Turbosmart e-boost street
- VES exhaust valve

So all in all, i'm a happy camper

Because i have so many things going on at the moment, i totally forgot to make an update in here

I got the car done some time ago, that is quite nice, since i have a surgery scheduled for my hand tomorrow.

That race spec clutch i traded, turned out to be for a dual mass flywheel. I didn't know there was a difference in the clutches for dual vs single mass fly wheels. Now i know, by lerning the hard way

So as money where short, i got hand of a good condition second hand pressure plate. Also got my bellhousing welded as i could not find one for sale at that moment.







When i had the transmission of the car, i could ass swell change the rear gasket as i was leaking oil





Got the whole car buttoned back together and fired her up again, Damn that was a nice feeling since the car had not been started up since the clucth went in the fall last year

Since it's been about 3 years since the car was polished, it thought it was time, so gave it some love.



As the icing on the cake, i got hold of some red "pin stripe" decals and put down the side of the car, just to give it a bit of an old school look.



Think it turned out quite nice. Now we are just waiting for the good summer weather to arrive

The dual mass FW is much more heavier than a single mass one. Are You downgrading?

Yep i know that the dual mass is much heavier, just never thought about the difference in thickness, and therefore a difference in the pressure plate. Saw that a few Days efter doing the trade.

So i stole a good pressure plate from a spare engine i forgot i had

why would i be downgrading?

Got tired of loking at the plain inside of the trunk plus the Small toolkit.
So found some left over bits from my donorcars and this is how it looks now.
Sadly it's not mint, so when i find one in better shape it will get changed.
Now i just have to find all the tools for the big kit

I love this car, still a little turned off by the red grill but I enjoy the originality. Those wheels are dope and the car is so nice!

Thanks a lot, yes the grill is either something you love or something you hate.

I like to go a bit outside of the box and do things other people normally wouldn't do "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt' "

I still love these Bugatti wheel, and still to this date have not seen another set for sale anywhere, the only thing that comes close is a set of Pinin firina, they use tthe same barrol and screws but have another center

So today it was time for a proper photo shoot. Dont know how many photos got taken, but it took about 4 hours all in all
Some driving shoots was also taken.

They got taken for the biggest modified car magazine here in DK, cant wait to see the end result

A small update.

Had some space time, so finally got around to actually mounting the Bottle for the NOS system. Misplaced the bottle a long time ago, but found it in the workshop the other day, so now i had to go in!

Wanted to be able to open the boot without the bottle being in sight, so decided to mount it in the spare wheel location.

But as you can see in this pic, it looked quite rough after years abuse by a wheel and other stuff.



Gave it a lick of flat black, that helped a lot!



Time for the bottle, and YES i KNOW it's not a Genuine NOS bottle, but it was the bottle that came with the kit (Bought it used of Ebay)
It's painted the same color as the car and has the same red decal as on the outside of the car.



Due to the bottle not being the same size as a normal NOS bottle, i had to find another brace to mount it with, i found this one in a corner of the workshop and it would work just fine, so this got a quick lick of paint ass swell



This is how it ended up being placed and mounted



And a last one of how it looks when the carpet is back in, not to shabby!



I'm also quite exited, because there is a really big car show here in Denmark that's being held in 14 days, and my little baby is going to be exhibited along with a lot of other show cars
