I had a nightmarish dream last night that a fat 3" crack developed in my crack-free dashed 528i, at the center vent. I can't remember the rest of the dream, only that. If I wasn't a geek before, I am certified now. I really didn't think I cared about such things enough that it would end up in my subconscious. Oh wait I know why, because it's dead in my driveway awaiting a fuel pump for transplant. Getting snowed on and everything. That would be why.
LSD makes you dream vividly and you don't have too sleep eitheroldskool wrote:So now I'm onto cherry juice at night in order to sleep a little better. You've got to try it.
Seems to be working and the dreams produced are pretty vivid. Latest dream involved a competition wrestling match with Alijonny at The Vintage with Moosehead as referee. I woke up really worn out and also mad because I was disqualified for biting! -still pissed.

Given the amount of hallucinogens I ingested in my early 20's, there isn't enough text in existence to describe the dreams I have nowadays. My penial gland is running at redline. I used to write them down if they were profound, but stopped at my third textbook as it was an effort waking up and doing that every morning. Not one was ever a nightmare.
Funnily enough I had a dream lastnight the iS was stolen from a US service station while I was trying to figure out what bowser offered what fuel, whilst on my upcoming driving holiday. The problem I had was that all your fuels were called gas, whereas here LPG is the only fuel referred to as 'gas'. This lead to too many confusion, and somehow resulted in LPG ending up in the fuel tank. Disaster? No! If not for that mistake the baddie who stole the car would've had an easy escape but alas, his plan was foiled.

Finally had a dream about my business trip.
I was waiting to pick up my NAK (nerve agent kit), and gas mask filters along with a bunch of other "new to country" stuff. Oddly, I was in civilian gear while everyone else was in cammies. We were overwhelming the staff trying to get our stuff to us, so I was put in charge of restoring order. Two Marines in the building at a time. One being helped, one being in the "batter's box/on deck". One Marine leaves the building, another Marine enters. And so on.
Seems reasonable...

Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
Ugly dream
I guess it kinda faded into a foreign desert in a military sort of scenario.
We were dumping gas on the ground as looong fuses and then just placing the jerry cans on the ground behind little hills. It didn't seem like we were very well prepared, half uniforms, very little if any body armor, and I didn't see too many weapons. It was weird. Well, all of a sudden a hail of gunfire decimates just about everyone. The sand from those fuses starts jumping, and the Marines placing those makeshift bombs are taken out. I basically witness a complete military rout, but I am ignored. I witness the enemy forming up in columns through the blowing/settling sand. They're wearing tan uniforms with black hoods/mask combos. I see the unit colors (large red Marine Corps flags) of four units being held high by the enemy as they march away in columns.
I'm so confused and trying to figure out where I'm supposed to be. I'm drawn to the column and hear a heavy gasping/moaning noise. I notice a black dog who appears to be biting the back of the neck of a white dude who has seen better days. He's almost skeletal, and it's hard to tell if he's crawling and the dog is holding on, or if the dog is carrying him and the dude is trying to get away. Anyway, I look away and am watching the columns disappear. I look down again and the skeletal dude is no longer dancing with the dog. Matter of fact, his head has left his body. The dog wanders around a little, then comes to me. He puts his feet up on me and starts to lick on my right armpit. His licking becomes a little more animated with a couple nibbles and I quickly realize he wants another dance partner and start fighting him. That wakes me up.
*shivers*
That one was so strange and I had a hard time going back to sleep after that. I have no idea what it means, but I know I'll remember it for a while.

Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
I try to forget my dreams although it seems the older I get reality is the nightmare, the subconscious is one ephed up realm though.

Do me a favor, please leave me out of your dreams, I don't want to be anywhere near them.ldsbeaker wrote:Ugly dream

I woke myself up chuckling this morning because of a dream. I dreamed I was sitting down with a buncha women at a nice restaurant called "Dick's". When one of the women ordered Dick's platter, I burst out laughing.
Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
I had a dream last night where I had to have a tooth removed due to it being infected/abscessed. It sucked because it was one of my front teeth and I have a major job screening tomorrow. No beuno. It's possible I might be nervous about things tomorrow.
Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
I had swim qual this morning. I'm not a strong swimmer at all, but usually have no trouble with swim qual since I finally learned to float a couple years ago. Anyway, over a decade ago, i was doing the boogie board thing by myself in the Atlantic off the coast of NC. Got caught in an off shore rip current and was dragged south at a very fast rate. Kinda scary and very tiring to get out of that one... I'm dive qual'd so I shouldn't have any problems with water. Long story.
Anyway, last night I was 'surfing' in a lazy river type thing that led out to open water. My surfboard was a very floppy one (like it was made of the metal side of an above ground pool?) but somehow, if I pumped my legs hard enough, it kept me upright and on top of the water. Then I hit the open water and there was a wicked cross current that promptly grabbed the surfboard and dragged it under. I was being pulled under and out of the lazy river "lane". No matter how hard I pumped my legs it just sank faster. Also, it was a borrowed board, so I really didn't want to lose it. I gave up pumping and was doing my best to keep the board between my feet. I went under and woke up moaning, I guess.

Somehow Coldswede moved into the house of a kid I went to elementary school with just up the road. I never really got along with that kid or his older brother. Apparently something happened and I had to call some sort of authoritative body about it. I was out for a walk and Coldswede was out in his driveway. He was mad at me because calling the authorities on them somehow caused the authorities to take away his driver's license. I was apologizing because apparently I had no choice but to call in the authorities. Coldswede was walking with a cane for some reason.
I woke up REALLY confused.

Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
So I drove a new (used) car to a driving school event, which was being held at the local high school/middle school complex. The new (to me) car was a red Audi though my son also came along driving some sort of red Ferrari-esque supercar thing. The Ferrari was not going to participate, just the Audi. During the tech sign-off, they found a missing shield in the engine bay and that the car was leaking all sorts of fluids. They told me I could run the car if I drilled and screwed into place a rubber floormat where the shield was missing, so I had Aidan wandering the paddocks looking for a drill. And they said the fluid leak was okay because it was just washer fluid, and that tank had leaked itself dry. But I was sure that it was actually a coolant leak and was really agitated wondering how I'd get the car home after I blew up the engine.
Ugh. Driving an Audi. I was happy when the alarm went off.

Re: The Dream / Nightmare Thread
I once had a dream where I was leaving work during the day, and came upon a sporty red Japanese car in my parking spot. I figured that since someone was inconsiderate enough to park this car in my spot, it was fair game for me to take it for a spin. So off I went, until I arrived at a giant loopdiloop which I would attempt to drive around. However, I did not make it all the way around, and instead plunged into the sea below. After this epic fail, I respawned at work where I got in my e28 and left to make another try at the loopdiloop. As the car begins to climb the bottom of the loop, cut to a classroom. A teacher is standing at a chalkboard where there is a diagram showing the loopdiloop, my car, and some numbers. He asks the students to predicts what happens next.
