Look's like I will be sitting this one out. I won't be able to take any time off of work for it this year plus my car is nowhere near ready for the trip or the beat down. Hopefully next year will be my first RTT!! That'll give me time to get my car 100% ready too.

Quit your job and get a better one when you return home.

--- And ---

RonP can take an E28 apart, put it back together, and then sell it for $20K + in less time than what you have.

Nah.. Its actually screwed... I am pretty sure the guide rails are gone in the engine.

Doesn't idle properly when cold and throws timing over advanced codes.

Even if it was working 100%, I probably wouldn't take it.

The only reason I am considering taking the golf is because its shiny new and I don't have any drive time in it. It does have a stiff sport suspension. I am thinking of putting big brakes on it.

I say I want to drive an M5, and Rodney volunteers, as long as he can supervise.
Fresh timing components and you can take him out unsupervised. ;)

A big X2 and thanks to KillerPM (Pete) for designing and maintaining the RTT website.

And it's great to see Adam's RTT12 story posted on the website.

The destinations will come soon (one of them decided to jack the rates on us, we are finding an alternate).

Routes will come MUCH closer to the event then in previous years.

Thanks for considering my point of view worthy of revival...

I wanted to video some interviews with the participants last year, but was too busy with everything else...
Do you think that would be a viable addition/would people be interested in that?

I did it two years ago...

So I say yes. I don't think I'm ready to edit another without my normal billing rate though. This is a lot of work and commitment.

One of the professional services I offer is video editing and I bill it out at $50 an hour. I should bill it out at $75-115 an hour. So last time I did it because I wanted to do it but the days of video editing for free are behind me because, unfortunately, its just too much commitment and work.

Okay. Exactly. I'm not looking at a huge production... Just putting some faces and honest thoughts out there on youtube. I guess I'll check out what you put together.

I would be more than happy to take on the task of video editing. My work is certainly not up to Rodney's professional standard, but I have done some stuff in the past using iMovie.

If that's the case I'd probably shoot some video for the cause. We can transfer stuff online to you then. I'm not opposed to shooting stuff... just no more editing.

Is there a specific date, time, and departure point for the Canadian contingent?

We will most likely be leaving for Vintage at the Vineyards Thursday Morning.

Plans may change though.

I like this statement from the website;

"The annual RTT experience is more than just a drive. It strikes a chord with many. The movement through the countryside while experiencing the connection between the road and the car, combined with the focus required to do so in a competent manner, seems to slow time. Thoughts and daily pressures fade. The ability to share these experiences with like minded individuals is what RTT is really about."

The author seems very insightful...

That quote really hits home.

For anyone that is super stressed out from daily life and work pressures, if you have a car that is reasonably maintained, I strongly suggest you consider attending this event. Nothing takes the stress away like a nice drive through the countryside with good friends and good people.

RTT is the answer to all your worries... :)
