This is my 'sleeper'. '93 VW EV. Only a sleeper because it's a 5-sp manual, so occasionally I can beat schools buses and box trucks off the line if I catch them at the right time.
Thx Pete, just to add that the experience of having almost 300 HP on the ground in a 2800 LB e28 is magical and priceless , actually we were to gather few times that we push the limit.
chevy motors aren't too great past 100K and bmw motors are just getting started at 100K...
I dunno where you got that figure but Chevrolet engines go far longer than 100k.
Chevrolet engines are actually among the best in the world for power and durability. If the rest of a Chevrolet was as excellent as the engine the company would be in much, much better financial situation.
Ain't nuthin' wrong with push rod small block engine.

I love chevy motors, we have 3 SBC's in the garage, --one being in the 69 camaro.
I got that figure growing up with family that owned shops.

BMW 6 cylinder motors are just getting started past 100k. BMW M62 and newer V8's are typically trashed due to neglect and cost a small fortune to rebuild past 100k. And the M62's suffer from that wonderful timing chain guide failure that tends to kill the motors past 100k.
With that car, there's stuff to be amazed by everywhere. You should see the trunk!
In person, well I just love that car. The owner is the nicest guy and the car is awesome because it looks pretty bad in person! Under the hood, and in the trunk...well all of that looks amazing. It was quite the $$ build...I think over 100K is in that car.
