I loaded up at 6.5 cents a round before the Polish surplus ran out. Only regret I have is not buying more. We can thank that dickhead Clinton and the Democrats for the bullshit treaties regarding surplus guns and ammo. Its definitely out there, its just too difficult and expensive to import at a profit.

You guys made out on the SVT40's. They fetch $800-1000 or way more depending on particulars down here. I understand they are a 3-400 dollar rifle up there.

I can get a really nice numbers matching arsenal refurbished one for 300 bucks (I am thinking of picking one up in the next few weeks).

SKSs are 200 bucks up here (for the good russian ones, chinese ones are 130), and mosins are around 150.

I would say its the only good gun thing we have over you folks down south. Lots and lots of cheep mil surp.

7.62x54R is still widely available down here. Not like it used to be, but far cheaper than .30-06 or .308 at about 18.5 cents a round delivered. I enjoy shooting the bolt action more and you don't go through as much ammo. I might go through 100 rounds in a range trip. Good fun. Stock up when you can. It will dry up eventually, especially in light of some of the recent UN gun control garbage going don the pipe.

Yah. I can see that happening. The last initiative the UN tried to pass was to mark all imported firearms with the name of the country and year of import for firearms entering the country. Our current government just threw these requirements out the window. There is light yet.

as i sit here at my desk if i heard a ruckus i could grab my glock 31 stuffed with 15 federal ashtrays, or if the mood struck me for some odd reason the much less portable compound crossbow hanging over the desk, or machete that is sharp enough to shave with (i was board ) to have for back up to the 870 12g pump loaded with 7 rounds of 00 buck that id be using to have a conversation with whoever was dumb enough to invite themselves into my home. and its all otay
