I'm glad the games remain pure, focusing only on the athletes and the competition amongst nations.
Wrong brand: UK athletes warned over headphones
Associated Press – 4 hrs ago.........LONDON (AP) — British Olympic chiefs have clamped down on a bit of guerrilla marketing that saw the country's athletes sporting stylish — but non sponsor-brand — headphones at the games.
Many athletes use headphones to help keep focused before competitions and several have been photographed wearing the Beats by Dr. Dre brand.
The reason for their popularity? British Olympic officials say batches were shipped to hotels outside London where Team GB athletes were staying
Diver Tom Daley was seen on television wearing them before competing Monday and soccer player Jack Butland tweeted his support for the brand.
But no more. British Olympic Association spokesman Darryl Seibel said Thursday that officials have reminded team leaders of "the importance of protecting our corporate partners" and of rules against endorsing commercial products.

I always end up getting sucked into everytime they're on. I can't stand NBC's coverage and their per-determined "idea" of programing for prime-time. I also can't understand why they have restricted or even require a viewer to log in with their cable/sat provider account to watch live coverage over the web. WTF? It never used to be that way. Not to mention those feeds are glitchy also.
Web coverage is the only place you'll find all the odd but extremely interesting sports like Fencing, Skeet Shooting, Equestrian, and as mentioned, Archery. Besides the "glamorous" star sports, the Olympics are the only time you'll ever see these other sports discussed let alone get coverage.
My wife lives for it & watches most everything she can; I've got better things to do.

Jon Stewart and Colbert are having a grand time with dressage and the Mittster . The only person I ever knew to compete in dressage , financed it by embezzling 3 million $ from her employer.
