I have a facebook, but I never use it. I can't stand social media websites in general. I could see how a twitter would be useful to announce site maintenance, though.
Do you have to be a member and/or following someone to see their tweets? Or can you just go to the site and see updates?

You have to have a Twitter account to see tweets. You have to be "connected" to or "following" (which sounds a bit stalker-ish) to see tweets from a person or entity on Twitter.

Interesting, the 13 to 17 age group is not as active as the 18 to 25 on FB.

No doubt, FB is used by parents to track the activities of the younger age group.

Well, technically, you're not supposed to be on facebook if you're not 18; which is why my daughter lied about her graduation year to get an account. That said, she is in my Friends list so I can see what she's doing and I have her password so I can see if she's decided to try to hide stuff from me. I have my own privacy setting such that she doesn't see what I'm up to (given that it occasionally involves some profanity). A couple of her friends requested to 'friend' me, but I deem that inappropriate. Any friend I have under the age of 25 is most certainly a 'car geek' - aren't you?
