Adrian,

Heino's sexual orientation has nothing to do with his talent as a musician. Henio is a superstar in Germany.

UPDATE!!!!!!

The recent train derailment in Columbus raises concerns about Ohio's rail safety standards.

Therefore, the RTT Executive Committee is reconsidering its endorsement of the 5er Festival.

Well Mark, Im not sure I agree with that. But enough about Heino.... are there going to be crawler races at 5er Fest??? What specific fiver events are planned??.... Will there be taunting by e28 owners of the late model show and shine crowd??

Cactus & Rodney,
Thank you. So, do I really have to register for O'Fest? Are the two events (freakishly) conjoined like they were in 2010 @ Road America? Can I just register for 5erFest when the time comes? I really just want to hang out with you guys anyway. :dunno:

TIA,
Tim

p.s.,
OK, I'll bite. Who the HELL is Heino Mutter? WTF is this guy's deal?

Yep, it's going to be similar to the Road America 5erFest. We don't have 5erFest registration up anywhere yet, so sit tight. I can say that if you want to do any driving events at Mid Ohio or hit the Friday evening Banquet (I'm told this is a lot of fun, but there's no obligation to attend) you're free to register for those with the CCA. I'm doing the racing school, personally.
There will be plenty of fun just between us 5er guys. Also, I'm working on a drive through the foothills, and we're trying to make creeper races happen somehow, despite Ohio's flatness.

So I'm signed up for O'Fest starting at Monday's banquet (with a DE on Wednesday) and effectively ending on Thursday with autocross, well I guess technically with Friday's banquet. So, I'll be there for 5er Fest.

And if hills are going to be scarce, what if we drag a creeper behind an E28 from the bumper, make it more of a team event? :D I have the ski rope.

Hey, I had not paid attention, but I can make this, also if anyone needs any parts I am 1.5 hours from Columbus. If I have a hitch by then I can take it to Columbus.

Hey guys- this is coming together well. We're working on a drive on Friday with multiple destinations and some free time to visit the Mid-Ohio track, and we're also working on a show and shine location possibly closer to the hotel for Saturday. And group dinners. This should be a fun trip to piggyback onto O'fest, although it looks like the two will not intentionally be intertwined.

Also, and this is subject to change, there won't be a fee for the events. Tim, Hunter and I are hoping to see as many of you as possible here in September- talk soon!

P.S. I'd love to know who has registered at the hotel thus far.

Hey Rodney,

Looking forward to 5erfest. The RTT crew will be well represented, Sia, Adrian, Mario, and myself will attending the event.

Cousin Billy is flying up from Pensacola FLA to Toronto to pick-up a new sled and will be driving down to Columbus with us. As for the car, here's a hint, it's a very special fiver built and maintained by a true enthusiast from Toronto. There are some people who will be familiar with the car because a number of years ago it made an appearance and quite an impression at the Classic Mississauga BMW Festival.

That's all I can say until Billy rolls into Columbus.

And, congratulations on placing first in the Vintage magazine photo contest.

We are signed up for Ofest.
First time we have gone to Ofest that wasn't in our backyard so to speak.

I'm pretty sure we will drive the M5 but if I get the 3.0CS coupe running better and feel like it could make the trip we might drive it.
Wait to see what you guys come up with for a schedule.
I have signed up for a track day on Thursday.

Here's the schedule with final details on a few things still to come. But its pretty much set at this point:

Thursday: Dinner- A casual gathering close to the hotel. Possibly at the nearby BW-3.

Friday: A small drive. Likely up to Malabar Farm and then to a winery or Mid-Ohio. Dinner will be a gathering at our house- about 15 minutes from the hotel- with hot dogs and other grill food.

Saturday: We will be having a show- the location is still TBA but it looks like it may be part of a Grove City show that is from 10-4p. Dinner will likely be walking distance to the hotel again possibly at a place called The Polaris Grille.

I just got off the phone with one of the organizers of the Grove City show and they're going to give us their own area for the show. They're going to have 150 trophies to give out as well and we can be included in that- they usually have about 300 cars of all makes. There is a bar within walling distance as well and plenty to do in Downtown Grove City as long as you like eating and drinking. Final details to come.

Nope. O'Fest will be at Laguna Seca next year. Will be glad to meet up in, say, Lincoln, NE and drive the other half in convoy. :D
