Gonna go with these -

Requires bigger wheels.....that is a different more pressing "list".

Tigers weight?

With 10 gal of fuel, spare tire and a couple other removable items - 2560 lbs.

Thats 6 lbs per HP (engine dyno numbers), with more tuning I want to get at the McLaren F1 at 5.2lbs per hp range. Will need 480 HP to do that.

1/4 calculators predict a 11.16 ET with the Tiger's current HP/weight.

IF I can get the HP to the ground that is.

Stop the math because you are only going to be disappointed with your ET initially. It's going to take 40-50 passes to sort the car out and learn how to drive it. You can do it but it won;t be the first trip to the dragstrip although it is just a solid axle car with a na v8 so it should be very easy to drive.

Yea, I know. Will all be down to a good launch. May have to short shift.....should have the top end gears.

Getting the fuel flow to spec.

Image
120 GPH fuel pump with a high capacity fuel filer installed. Using 3/8 line from the tanks to the carb with only ~4" of rubber line in the complete system.

Still have to connect to the 3/8 line from the tanks to the pump and then from filter to to the 3/8 line to the carb.

Image

Image
The new air filter. The stock filter can not flow what is needed for over 400 HP. I will use the stock filter for car shows. After all.....they sell for $600 - $1K to replace.

Got the 3/8 line to the crossover. Was not as hard as I thought it would be.

I cut the 5/16 line to get the compression fitting off. Drilled the opening to 3/8. Here was the tricky part.....getting a proper flare on the 3/8 without the compression collar (would not fit). I went down to AutoZone and used their brake line double flare kit. The trick is to stop at step one and not push the flare down in the second step. So far so good, no leaks.

Here is the pump install finished

Spare tire still fits great. With the trunk panel down....you see nothing.

The fuel system can now support engine tuning and my goal of 480-500 HP.

Is attempt at driving video.

Sorry about the wind noise. Will have to take a couple of videos with the top up. The sound of the engine going through the gears is quite intoxicating. Video just does not capture the acceleration very well. I have a GPS will put in the dash for the next videos that will show MPH.

What kind of camera are you using? If it's a GoPro, put the waterproof cover over the mic port to filter out the wind noise.

In video #3, good thing you shut it down before entering the right hand sweeper. Trees are not forgiving, especially when rolling on those skinny little bicycle tires.

What? No cookies? No burnouts?

;)

Looks like a fun ride though!

In that third video, it looked like the top of your windshield is moving (probably just the camera moving and my old/slow computer not displaying properly.) Mark has a valid point; get a windscreen on that microphone, or maybe dub some death metal music over the top.

Two more.......

Top up, windows up....GPS on windshield. Now you can hear the beaut of an engine. Hit 109 on first video.

Need bigger tires! Using a Flip mino HD.

0-109 in ~11 seconds with lots of wheel spin.

Some changes to the fuel pump install due to it being VERY loud.

The hard line from the pump to the filter transferred a lot of nose to the trunk wall. So, I ordered 1 foot of Pegasus 910 6AN Kevlar Braided PTFE Racing Hose and two 6AN strait hose fittings. I also flipped the pump bracket around, used some rubber mounts and made another bracket.

It is much quieter now.

That is beautiful work. I am actually a little surpirzed at the weight. My former 2002 with the S14 2.5 weighed about the same as your car, but had 300 lbs of cage. It had 270 hp and was extremely quick. Yours must be dangerous fast. I did not read the entire thread, but I am assuming that you installed a kill switch for that fuel pump. Might keep you out of the burn unit at some point. Also. Get mo brakes!

For sure at the Midwest Ford Fest in Sept.

Thanks! Surprised at weight... heavy or light? It is heavy for a little Brit car at 2500 lbs. It has a hell of a underbody cross member. It is very fast and has no buffer for stupidity. Kill switch coming, bigger wheels to include Wilwood brakes next year.

Just installed a high speed one piece oil pan gasket on it this morning as the cork and rubber was leaking.

Surprised it was that heavy, but my guess it is the weight of the engine. Hard to get anything with fenders much below 2200.

Others have gotten their Tigers down close to 2000 but they are completely stripped. This new engine should be under 500 lbs. It is much lighter than the stock 260 which had cast iron heads and intake manifold. The Aluminum heads and intake are ~70 lbs lighter.

At the current HP level (416), the car is a 6 lbs/HP. I want to get it down to 5.4 lb/HP, need to get 460 HP out of the engine to do that. Should not be difficult with a larger carb.

Those are some numbers. When I started on I had a target to get the M2 down to about 2002 lbs. I used CF hood and trunk which helped but the full cage was the issue at 300 lbs. I also planned on using a Gruppe A S14 2.5 which would have been 330hp, but I ran out of budget and used a evo3 build at 270. When I had it corner weighted, it came in at a little less than 2500. Given the cage weight, I missed it by about 200 lbs. The guy I sold it to has since removed most of the interior and uses it as a track weapon. Doubt that it made more than 100-150 lbs difference. Anyway, beautiful work. Question remains, will you be able to stop when it's perfect! I have a rough time with that myself.

My car will be almost identical to yours in regards to lbs/hp with the m70 in stock trim. Of course I can't get power as easily as you can, but I'll be happy to have my car be as fast as yours :)

That fact is always kept on the low low. The car needs "safety" improvements usually works.

Good point. That's worked for me in the past as well; "I need these (lowering) springs because the old ones are shot, and it's just not safe to drive it like it is."
