That was a great weekend Sherman! Thank you for putting on a fabulous event. And a big thanks to all those who helped behind the scenes.

Ramona and I appreciated the Texas hospitality and welcome. :up: We have already penciled next year's event on the calendar!

The Saturday morning drive was most certainly unexpected... a rock'n & roll'n wake up call! :haul: I'll make sure to down more coffee next time

Not to let the weekend end at Leakey... we joined the Nebraska gang on I-35 for a high speed run north. LJ, your E28 is an awesome ride. :bow: Thanks for letting me wind it out. Ramona was all smiles at Blackwell... her M recorded 124mph. You guys spoiled her... but at least I now have an idea for her Christmas present... Valentine or Passport? :dunno: Dunno, which one?

Could not agree more. My GPS reported 123 trying to keep up with LJ right after lunch Saturday. That is one hell of a car. I took a ride in it upon our return to Leakey and was quite blown away.

As someone who has had an intimate relationship with RADAR as it applies to verifying the speed of motor vehicles, I'd use nothing but a Valentine. Everything else is substandard in my opinion.

I learned long ago to keep an eye on the guy behind you more than the guy in front of you during a group drive. Never leave a man behind!

Hey Adam, on the trip home I turned on the GPS and did 4500 RPM in 5th. It was at 93MPH 5000RPM was 101

Even better than the photos! Although, it would be great to also watch at actual speed. Really was hoping to go this year, but will definitely be there next.

Looks like you got a lot of my backside Sherman.

I have a couple of hours I recorded with the Torque app but it sounds like some work to export it. Maybe next weekend.

It looked like there were some serious extra-legal speeds going on that weekend. I would never take part in such activities. :tsk:

It took me a few tries to get there and it was definitely worth it. My only complaint is that I didn't have enough time there and the only cure is to keep going back. Every conversation and every curve in the road made this event great.

Had a fantastic weekend, and another big thank you to Sherman and Pavel for the organization! Also big thanks to Sherman, Pavel, Clinton, and Luis for helping solve a few issues in many aspects of getting the M5 ready.

Totally rebuilt the heater core box and A/C box the week before Tex Fest, so if any of y'all need assistance or have questions I would be more than happy to help!

Had an absolute blast! Having only had the M5 a few months, I didn't know how far I could push her, but I do think she could have taken more! Was able to get up to 133mph on a stretch on the way home, that's the fastest I have ever gone!!! :wow: And what's funny, my son was just calmly reading his book, totally unaware. Amazing how well they handle!

Where is the law that we could buy a DPS speed license for our car every year, so no worries of tickets?!

As I posted on facebook, "Trip from Lubbock to Leakey, and all the insane-in-the-membrane driving I had with the Three Sisters, and back to Lubbock, spent $245 on gas." :cool:

Look forward to next year!!! Maybe I'll bring the 02 trailered by my '75 IH 4dr long bed pickup. ;)

I pushed my 4hp22 harder than it's ever been pushed before. Rock solid! Who says they can't take abuse? :roll: Enroute back home, it saw barely legal speeds for very extended stints.

Pavel, once you get one, you'll be constantly trying to figure out how to get an S38 into it without too much cutting, too much roll-bar reinforcement, and without it weighing twice the M10 engine! :D
