Received my February issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car in the mail today... WOOT! :D Unfortunately, they only had room for a 4-pager and not 6 pages, so they didn't provide any details or pictures of what we started with and the build itself, just the end result really. But, hey, still honored to make the publication and have the e28 exposed. :D

Another great article Roy!

Just curious as I was reading the 2010 article again today. How would you compare the TCD turbo to the Alpina?

Rich... the TCD turbo set-up is far more responsive, i.e., very little lag time and, with the spring I have, offers more boost. This is as you would expect with turbo technology that is 25+ years newer. Bottom line: the Sepang 535 would blow the doors off my old B7. :)

P.S. For anyone interested in the article and doesn't want to buy the issue, perhaps this link will work: http://www.hemmings.com/hsx/stories/201 ... ture9.html

Back in May, on the way to The Vintage, I stopped in Virginia Beach, VA to have Peter Florence (PFT) dyno-tune the 535ti Sepang car again, since we had changed the exhaust to a full 3" (from 2 1/2") and the spring size in the turbo. Here are couple pics from that day. The car tuned out at 294 bhp at the wheels and 324 pound feet of torque at 10 lbs. of boost.... nice and safe and just fast enough :)

I always have way too many questions, sorry. Did you go to single or dual 2.5"? Why the change? And of course do you gave pictures?

It was a single 2 1/2" Supersprint (steel) that we changed out to a single 3" custom with stainless resonator and muffler and custom piping. It needed to breath better :)... which it did, as the dyno results were much better with the 3" set-up. It also sounds better. :)
