Just arrived home after assisting a fellow e28/23-er with a roadside repair. Just about anything can be fixed with bubblegum & toothpicks!
Thanks for an awesome time guys!

Great pics so far, but I know there's more; come on guys, put 'em up!

He does take quite good care of it. Amazing he keeps it so green, even with the drought.Ted in T.O. wrote:As always the grass at Darin's is in fantastic shape. Parts porn pics please.
I'm on my plane heading home. Had a blast. Got sunburned, drunk, hung over, a hat, new (old) music, great food (Mike!), and no STDs (hopefully).
Really great meeting some of the other-coast folks like Kyle, Aaaron, and Jim. And Travis who's not from Louisiana. And LJ.
It was also fun making fun of and talking crap about all of you who weren't there.
Darin, Sir Charles, and Burgermaster: A big tip of the hat for all the hard work and for hosting things.
Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
Heading back East now too. We had a great time
I want to thank Charles, Darrin and Mike especially for their work planning and executing a mighty fine 15th St Paddy's Day event. I enjoyed meeting the guys I'd not otherwise have met in person. I imagine we will gather again in the future. Safe travels back for those of you who drove from afar. Jim

Early am departure and sad to leave this gorgeous weather.

A HUGE thank you to Chas, Darrin and Mike for the hospitality and free run of their abodes. Mike B is a fabulous chef!! He brings burgers (no pun intended ) to a whole new level. And there was some other cut of beef he prepared that was to die for. Yum!
This certainly is a gathering of friends and fun. The cars are secondary. Kinda nice change
Glad to meet some new folks and put an avatar to a face.
Lastly, a grateful thanks to Ivo for delivering those oh so needed parts to the states. When I think about the time to take a request, source it, pack it, ship it & coordinate its delivery... I'd be surprised if he broke even. Darrin is a champ for allowing the Lawn Part Art Festival.

Made it a mission to meet LJ. No disappoint.

Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
Just as in previous years, this weekend was a much needed respite from what I deal with every day. Unfortunately, as is usually the case, I don't really get to relax like I'd hoped. Ray and I left Phoenix at 2:30 am on Friday and arrived in San Diego late Friday morning. We returned this morning, leaving San Diego just before 6am. My M5 never missed a beat and really proved itself to be a great car despite my concerns given minimal time and attention I've given it since purchase. I really hadn't considered driving it but after it was suggested, it did end up being a great choice, I think, though I was definitely concerned about it most of the way over.
It was great to see the regular folks and meet new people, but unfortunately, most of our Northern California group couldn't make it this year. Still, we had a great group of folks and the appeal of the event is seen far and wide as seen by our guests who traveled extensive distances this year. We had a great collection of cars as well. Some unique and well-done cars along with cars of great potential. While the event has always been E28-centric, it's about the people and some of the folks who don't even own an E28 anymore still stick around because it's such a great group of folks.
While the windshield shipment was unfortunate, Ivo had a positive attitude about it and it really didn't put a damper on the weekend from my perspective. He brought a great selection of parts again this year and I'm glad it's become a tradition for him.
I was really excited to finally meet ahab, Motronic and travisj. Seen them around on the forums for years and had never had (or made) the opportunity to be in the same place at one time. It was also great that Kyle in NO could make St. Paddy's work into his trip out west and I know I appreciated seeing his awesome 533i with the most comfortable seats in the world. Of course, having repeat long-distance visitors like cek, geordi (and Ramona) and of course, Ivo's Good, Bad and the Ugly entourage will hopefully continue for years to come.
I left my camera behind this year so I didn't take much in the way of photos.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success yet again! Darin and Charles really do pull out all of the stops to facilitate this event each year by opening their homes to the festivities and for lodging for several out-of-towners (myself included). They also spend considerable money and time acquiring provisions for the weekend and thanks to everyone who gave generous donations both Friday and Saturday to help defray those costs. It is very much appreciated and shows what a good group of folks we have here. Several others like Mike Burger and Ray Mehr do a lot to keep things running smoothly for both Friday and Saturday event. Mike, as always, did a fabulous job with dinner Friday night and Darin's good friend Kelly provided some excellent food on Saturday. Our very successful raffle was orchestrated and managed by Ray, so if you didn't win anything, blame him.
Most of all, I'd like to thank Ron Perry (Happy Birthday) for being a true class act and being an example of how true enthusiasts respect other people's cars.

Thanks again everyone and I hope many are already looking forward to next year.

Good seeing everyone again. I know I've been a bit of a ghost the last long while. Definitely cool to see Kyle and Ahab out on the west coast, wasn't expecting that.

Saturday Afternoon & Night at Darrin's.
Awesome host, delicious food, and cool parts!
Our host…

This way, that way… it just wasn't going to fit.
But there was a work around

Ted you asked for parts pics… you got it. Thanks Ivo!!!!

Well not from Ivo's stash, but still cool stuff.

John & Devinder munching those small fried thingys

Ladies… size matters.

Raffle time.
Darrin, Chas and Devinder were a riot. (not in the Trump sense
) There were some very cool items up for raffle and a few interesting things
Forums members were very generous with their donations. Most of the tickets went towards an NIB MTech Fine Spline Wheel donated by Brian in TN (correct me if I'm wrong). Burger won it a re-donated back for the auction. Classy!

Doug was inducted into the Farah Circle for his professional and unselfish contribution to the forum. He is a s38 Wonk. For the Millennials in the group, that's a compliment.

Noelle was recognized with horn like gift. My blood sugar dipped for short bit and I missed what for. I'm sure it had to do with having patience and the betterment of us animals.

Yeah… low blood sugar moment.

Group shot!

PM me your email and I'll send you the RAW file of the group shot.

It was great seeing everyone Saturday. This was my first time coming to the party at Darin's house, last year I stupidly just went to the Mission Bay meet up and didn't stick around for the party. Had a blast this time!

Thanx Geordi for the parts pics. It made me feel as if I was there. I hope you didn't make Ramona fly home because of all the parts you purchased. "I will be back."

I apologize profusely in advance for forgetting/butchering your names, getting it wrong or plumb forgetting you. Someone can fill in the blanks on those not named above.
*EDIT: The photographers for these photos were Noelle and Romona (Mrs. photopark and Mrs. geordi respectively).
I will have my photos uploaded later tonight likely.

Very good Vince, I'm impressed. You even remembered me. I am going to save a copy of that photo to help me if I ever get back for another year. I had a great time with you all.
The only shitty part was arriving back home to find snow
It'll all be gone tomorrow but it just had to come down as I came back from wearing shorts & T-shirts. Besides I don't drive the BMW's in the snow.

Oh no! Just realized I left behind my "valve adjustment tool" !!! Lol
Nicely done on the picture Vince! Thank you
I really had a blast this weekend guys. It was nice to connect with a lot of you on a personal basis... As my first event I really didn't know what to expect but felt comfortable right away, for that reason, special thanks to Charles, Darrin and Mike B. for making me feel welcome and at home as soon as I arrived, you guys rock!
As far as e28s, I left inspired! Although my eta behaved like a champ on the road, I am ready to upgrade... More about that when the time comes. But for now I really look forward to next time for sure...
I took lots of pictures too and plan on posting them as son as I have an opportunity.
Thanks again for a great time!

Made it back to Denver at 7am this morning without incident.
To reiterate everyone's sentiments, the generosity of hosts Darin and Charles was outstanding and also Mike for re-donating his raffle winnings allowing me to get the dash cap via auction. Not yet secured, but just sitting on the dash, I forgot it was a cap until about half way to Phoenix. Looks so much better than the Grand Canyon that is under it!
Big thanks to Ivo as well for bringing over all the parts. My car is like a game of Tetris. Now that I got some sleep, it is time for me to head out to the garage to unpack.
Aldo, I'm sure they can send you your "valve adjustment tool" after they pass it around and give it some good use, maybe even pre-lubed!
As always, it is great to put some new faces to familiar names from the board. I look forward to making it back in the future and see some you at Vintage in short time.

Those issues must include some bush. That's the look of a man who can appreciate some Muff.
Re: St Paddy's Day 2016 - 15th Anniversary! O'Fishel Thread
Finally back home after some modest complications which I'll probably relate later.
First off, many thanks to the hosts, Charles and Darrin, who generously opened their homes to us. They were braver than I would have been allowing 20 or 30 or 40 often, uh, celebratory (ie had a few) guys to wander around their homes unescorted.
And Mike Burger who appeared to have put in some time on the organizational end of things and is also a fine chef!
Next it was good to see old friends and acquaintances, meet new ones who's handle's I'd seen but not met up with in person and even some who weren't on the radar but are enthusiasts. Eric, Devinder, Charles, Darrin, John SCB, Jeff, Ray, Chris and Ivo on the know side. And George and Ramona, Mike Burger, Travis, Rickey, LJ, Jim, Raj, Vince, Aldo, Charlie, Doug, Vince and others who's names I've already forgotten.
Names aren't my strong point, give me part numbers or specifications.
Regardless, a good time at the legendary Sandy Eggo St Patty's day gathering.

Thanks to the hosts & everyone else for a great party & being very welcoming. I met a lot of very good people even though I didn't meet everyone, at the start of the Saturday I was quite quiet & then after I had probably too many beers I'm sure I was pain in the ass. Either way I had a great time at my first e28 event & would love to do it again next year.

Can't thank the SD group enough for a really great time. A truly class act that went to great lengths to make everyone feel like family. I am very fortunate to have made a lot of new friends as well as place faces to names, some of which I've known for 15+ years at this point. A huge thank you to Karl Grau, MLastovo and of course OcCoupe for all they did to make this event over the top. Most everything has already been said or shared so I thought I'd post some random photos from the weekend. Primarily because I took these damn photos and I swore I'd post them instead of let them languish on my phone/hard disk, never to be seen by anyone but me. And also because all the good ones have already been posted...
USS Midway - Bell UH-1 (Huey)

USS Midway - Grumman F14 Tomcat - McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet - McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom

Saturday Show Group Shot (which doesn't do it justice)

Saturday Show departure

A couple Friday golf highlights not yet posted. Naked lady tees graciously provided by travisj. (The oversized buttplug is slightly disturbing but the missing limbs really freak me out.)

Post golf lunch at South Beach Bar and Grill

Some awesome speakers which I also own a pair of, proving that a couple of us have good taste in more than just cars..

A really nice pair of Style 9s donated by Kenny Blankenship, which I miraculously won in the Saturday raffle despite having no recollection of bidding on.

Evidence of a good time on Saturday (also proof there were chicks present: the box of Diet Coke)

AT8M5's gorgeous Euro M5 tribute, done to the finest detail.
And finally, the coup de grace. The fireplace IN the hotel room...
