Made a horrible mess with the glazing compound, but its in.
Thanks for the tip on the dust caps... a ton. I would have been very annoyed to have discovered this myself.wkohler wrote:I think you're going to need to replace the dust caps on the wheel hub with the later style to use the style 8s on that car. Otherwise the caps won't click in place.
I imagine your pads are more worn because of a sticking caliper. I wouldn't recommend turning rotors, but I guess you have nothing to lose but money and time.
My wife said that when she uses her mouth, she gets plenty of fluid out!cek wrote: ...sucking a lot of air...after 6 or so pumps it gets hard...but am not getting ANY fluid...I got maybe 5oz of fluid out and then nothing...
Here's a better (?) pic. I'm sure the lines are routed right, but then I've been sure of things before.dsmith wrote:My wife said that when she uses her mouth, she gets plenty of fluid out!cek wrote: ...sucking a lot of air...after 6 or so pumps it gets hard...but am not getting ANY fluid...I got maybe 5oz of fluid out and then nothing...![]()
Oh yea, I would pull fluid through the new caliper first.
I'm not saying it is routed wrong, just that it looks stretched, possibly just from the suspension droop. I just looked at two of mine at rest, but couldn't really tell anything.
Just get a family member to hop in and manually bleed. Easy to see if something comes out then.

Wish I could be there, but I take delivery of an 87 535is in the morning, though it will become more like a 533is...
