Definitely a terrible horrible no-good very bad day for some rocket surgeons. Pretty spectacular though.

The Thread of Randomness. . .

It's not like I'm terribly up to date on the whole commercial spaceflight field, so it's not a big surprise that I had missed where Orbital Sciences was sourcing their engines. Maybe that is a contributing factor?davintosh wrote:Definitely a terrible horrible no-good very bad day for some rocket surgeons. Pretty spectacular though.

Hmmm... Maybe!
Here's a more colorful video. "OH GOD IT'S GONNA BE LOUD!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ0SgAU9LXI

Too bad NASA is so busy with their outreach to Muslim nations or they could've helped out a bit.MicahO wrote:It's not like I'm terribly up to date on the whole commercial spaceflight field, so it's not a big surprise that I had missed where Orbital Sciences was sourcing their engines. Geez, it looked like the press guys were about a mile away from the launch pad; why'd they have to bug out so quickly? I heard about that last night too. Most of them grabbed their cameras, but left behind whatever they couldn't grab.MicahO wrote:Here's a more colorful video. "OH GOD IT'S GONNA BE LOUD!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ0SgAU9LXI

Get a PC? Whatever version of Firefox and flash I used to have didn't work with Adblock, but the current one as per Dave's suggestion works great, no intro ads. Lets see, I think you can run most Windows programs now on Macs, could you run a browser with adblock in Win mode?wkohler wrote:It's bad enough that I have to watch an ad before playing nearly every YouTube video. Is it too much to ask for that ad to be in English?!
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
It's Sally Fields birthday today. Not going to tell you how old she is because that's what Google is for. (If you're playing along at home, that's two things already just to annoy cek. . . )
If you'd like to know more about this multi-faceted actress, I suggest you direct your Apple product to view her rather impressive Wiki. Happy birthday Sally!

She is a sweetheart but then again I'm old.....................
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Yup, but never mind the PC; Chrome + AdBlock = fewer ads on YouTube on Macs and PCs. There are still some that force their way in, but I rarely see an ad there.Mike W. wrote:Get a PC? When someone asks, "Where'd the day go?" point to the west and say, "It went thattaway."
When someone comments on how the morning went by so quickly, tell them it always goes pretty quickly;
approximately 755 mph at 43.5364° N latitude.
And faster as you approach the equator.

Talk about random.......
There was a yellowjacket in the sheets last night. And no, that's not a pet name for my junk. There was actually a yellowjacket in the sheets of my bed last night, and it stung my wife's ankle at about 2:30AM. That made for some not-usually-found-in-the-bedroom excitement
I then spent the rest of the night with images of yellowjackets crawling all over, and dreamed not less than 5 times that I was the next target.

Wife is shopping for a new car (Q5?). My son (18) really, seriously, wants her to get a brown one. Effing weirdo.

Just been selected to a jury.
In other news, IMDB gives This Is Spinal Tap an 8.0/11 rating.

Sometimes, late at night when everyone is sleeping, I worry about just who is going to take cek bowling.

Sometimes late at night, when everybody's sleeping, I worry I'll die before meeting Oldskool in person.

Saw a dolphin hunting in the sound today. Noisy bastard disturbed my morning yoga so I called security and had it removed.

I just noticed my Android is downloading Lollipop 5.0 and I'm not sure if I should be excited, afraid or indifferent.
