The Thread of Randomness. . .
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
So got rid of most of our shop chairs and replaced them with wheelchairs that we got for free from a property that my buddy manages. I'm working my way towards a world record wheelie. I did one for an hour and i can even get the beer out of the fridge without setting the front wheels down. So 9 more hours doesn't seem unachievable. ![Laugh ](./images/smilies/laugh2.gif)

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I caught a cottontail rabbit in my back yard last night, by hand; stunned him with a stone, then walked up and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck. He then got his first car ride to a park near a wooded area by the river. Not sure if he survived the night, but he should thank his lucky stars he made it that far.
Only about 3,931 to go. I think we maybe need to reintroduce some predators into the ecosystem. Those critters are getting out of hand. Hey; maybe some ewok hunters, miniature or otherwise.

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I'm all for an ewok attack on the squirrels. We have two big pecan trees out back and the squirrels love to take a bite out of a pecan and them bomb me. I usually laugh it off but the other day I had half a pear dropped a few feet away from me. The pear tree is forty yards away in the neighbors yard!

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
For as long as I can remember, I've had a clicking noise in my left ankle with nearly every step. The funny thing is that I broke my right ankle as a kid. Hmmm. Oh, and I have a mild case of rotatory nystagmus that caused a cop to give me a breathalizer once after he stopped me for a (legal) illegal u-turn in San Diego. Was kind of a pain, but he finally believed my story once he saw the triple zero! Good times.
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
If your right ankle was set funny and healed up differently than it was originally, that might have affected something in the left. I broke my right ankle also, in 2002. The ER doc told me if I had been 12 years old they'd cast it for a few weeks and I'd be fine, but 40 year old ankle bones don't heal that well. I ended up in the hospital for four days for surgery with plates & screws and all. Afterward my right ankle ended up turned out farther than it was before; the left foot turns out about 10 degrees from center, and the right is now about 30 degrees. I asked the bone doc about it on one of the followup appointments, suggesting that he put my foot back on crooked, but he said there was only one way to do it. I still think something went on with that.BimmerSultan wrote:For as long as I can remember, I've had a clicking noise in my left ankle with nearly every step. Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I had a squirrel issue last week. Came home and "Rocky" was floating in the pool. Pretty stiff.....tossed him over the fence and the neighbors dog ate him.
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Got pulled over twice last night. Once for no turn signal though I clearly had my hazards on while turning. I don't think he was ready to deal with a raging asshole because he left after about 45 seconds of my bitching. Then I got pulled over for speeding 81 in a 65, I asked him to see his radar because my speedo doesn't work and i didn't believe him. Well he was right and i got to sit in the front seat of the cruiser and annoy the hell out of him asking if i could touch the buttons, and asking him to clock cars as they pass. After sitting there for almost an hour he decided to let me go because his printer wasn't working.
All in all it was pretty good night.

This fucking sleigh bed has got to go. Aren't they out of style by now??
It's like, 4 steps up and then you turn shoulder just to get in the fucker and try to catch some sleep.
Good luck with that midnight piss, as you'll end up on the floor like I have many nights. This ting has gos to go.

Definitely funny, in a frighteningly ironic sort of way. Many of my own thoughts are reflected in the lyrics. I've always felt that any organization with the slogan "Don't be evil" may be, underneath it all, inherently evil.
That said, there is a HUGE difference between General Dynamics (weapons manufacturer) and Boston Dynamics (robotics company purchased by Google). So before we all put on the tinfoil hats.....

4 roses + 2 LEDs = (+6 lab lighting)
![Image](http://puu.sh/b9e7N/5e0e2bd764.jpg)
Just milled (VERY roughly, it was scrap drilled with a 1/4" end mill) a diffuser for some cheapo wan hung lo LED arrays. I used a little boost regulator, old P4 CPU heatsink, and some wood screws (like gorilla, ugly, but strong) and I've got some cheap lighting for the lab. I may spin a board that'll incorporate the boost reg and mounting holes. Throw in the some stand offs and a lens and you've got a damned good light that could be powered off a laptop brick or lipo or car battery (need some protection for auto use). Those LED arrays are like $4~$5 each and are 50 watts, rated at 3800 lumens output* The boost regulator was made with parts lying around and lexan was free from work scrap.
*chinese lumens, who knows what they really are, but lots of light fo sho

General Dynamics? They have a place in Joplin that destroys out of date bombs. Last company I worked for had a contract for the scrap. Tight security there. Should have seen some of the writing on Vietnam era bomb casings.....weirdMicahO wrote:Definitely funny, in a frighteningly ironic sort of way. Many of my own thoughts are reflected in the lyrics. Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
My son has a total keyboard fetish. He hangs on in a Reddit group with other keyboard nuts. He buys and sells rare and different keyboards, key-caps, and switches. He has 7 keyboards on his desk. There are dozens of forums like mye28, but focused on keyboards. There are local clubs.
I guess it's better than watching others play video games on YouTube...but he does that too.
Tonight I got out an ancient laptop I bought in college. An Epson PX-8 Geneva. Z80 processor, 8 line LCD display, and a mini-cassette tape for persistent storage. He about shit his pants over the keyboard.

Using a heavy NY accent and tipping everyone in sight is gaining me lots of friends here at the Hampton suites in Manning SC. Wife, not so thrilled for some reason.

If you thought drinking and repairing a 40 year old espresso machine aren't two things that go together, you'd be wrong.
