What a super good time Tedfest was, indeed! Thanks to Ted and Diana and their whole family, which apparently is extended to the whole neighborhood block. I've never seen anything quite like it, 99% percent of the street was on board and at the party. But it was a great time in Canada, getting to see old friends and make new ones. The cars were great, but it's really about mixing it up and being with folks, isn't it? The answer for this event is a resounding yes. I'm already looking forward to next year - maybe even make a family trip out of it.

My trip was 1350 miles round trip, where I discovered having used a GPS that my M5 speedo is 6 mph optimistic. And the car ran great...old faithful. There's some rough road up north there in Ontario on the way to the Yukon, but it was very scenic and the bears were a treat to see.

And that "bronze colored" E12 won people's choice - Eddie in T.O.'s car. Duke won furthest distance traveled - that grass he found in his hotel room apparently really helped him get through the dull spots, unless my understanding is wrong.

We, the forum guys around here, cleaned up in the raffle prize category, it was kinda funny. And there were 141 cars entered in the show! Yeah Adam caught a ride with Jake to the event from their town of Bay City, MI (which I will be visiting hopefully soon), bought like 2 raffle tickets and won the $1,500 limited edition BMW watch everyone was gunning for. The jerk!

Ali even gave one prize back as he felt guilty about winning so many (but that's what happens when you buy $180 in raffle tickets, Ali - duh)! Crazy kid.... I ate bread and water on the way back, I was sad when my loaf was gone, but I found another stashed in the goodie bag upon arrival at home - my spirits were lifted. Oh yeah, Windsor border control is hardcore. I have to write a letter of thanks to them for allowing me to enter their beautiful country, as things turned out in the end. So many other things to mention, maybe I'll just leave it at stay away from the spicy sausage at the event next year!

No more time for chit-chat as TCD Todd is stopping through here on a road trip he is taking with his son... so I gotta go short-sheet the linens on the guest bed! His MyE28 party continues as he, Coldswede and myself will be getting together tonight, hopefully being able to get the H5 running... currently no spark.

Anyway, I wasn't much help to Ted and the team, and spent most of the time sitting in a chair... but, Tedfest was a outstanding event... record number of cars and attendees!! Congrats and thanks to Ted, his family, and those sponsors, and "locals" (you know who you are ) that made it such a special weekend. Great people, great cars, beautiful venue, nice prizes, good food, lots of beer... but the stories, discussions, comradeship, meeting lots of old friends, new friends, etc. was extraordinary!!

Thanks Ted and it was great seeing everyone... next year I'll even bring a car worthy of putting on the field

You're a real trooper. Your help at the registration tent was greatly appreciated along with Craig and the Kalman ladies.
You managed to make it to Tedfest and drive back home considering you're driving a longer distance in the next day or so for your family. That's A LOT of driving so go get some rest.

As always, it was great to see you again and catch up. The experience Saturday night was a real treat too

I'm looking forward to PVGP.

Get well and we all wish you a speedy recovery.

Every time I go to TedFest, I get that thing and put the spicy mustard on it. Every time's next day I say, "I've gotta remember not to do that next time." It's too delicious to resist.

I had a wonderful time myself. Thanks to Ted & Diane and family and neighbors, Craig, SQuirly and all the other volunteers. It was a fine show and a great social event. The small area of Canada I saw and the people therein are wonderful. I look forward to returning.

I'm sporting my new TedFest shirt here in Charlotte!

and yes... Rudolph's bread is very good. Brought a loaf with me for sammies

Paul, Craig delivered the coathanger to me. It's in McLean and we'll figure out how to handoff one day soon.

Yah, The Bradley Museum grounds were grand.. I spent some time checking out the details in the log cabin and the barn in addition to seeing some fine BMWs and Duke's Tiger too. He has done a tasteful update to the car. to bring it up to modern standards . 3 k mile road trip makes it a driver. And sticking out like a I dunno what was a yellow Ferrari . Couple of Zed 1s too.

Just got back home. So stoked to hang up the CSL poster. it was another great Tedfest thanks to all the people that made it happen and the great people that showed up. The worst part is realizing you must go back to your real life.

You guys will never believe that I ran into Alijonny at a Horton's just outside of Woodstock. I had breakfast with him then showed him the loud end of a Chrysler Crossfire. I lost sight of him not long after, either I drive too fast or he's working on a hypermiling record.

Thanks again Tedster, it'll be tough to top this weekend.

The lady was confused when I said: "I don't know, does ten liters sound good?" and she was like "okaaaay..." It was like I spent $12 on nothing. lol.

BTW, I'm back at the shop, changing my oil. Gonna try out that Shellbourne stuff.

So I made it home into the garage fine, right? Yes, no worries, and I took the car through some real remote ass country east of Lake Huron, the kind of landscape that makes you shudder to think about breaking down in, not to mention no cell service for Verizon. Anyway, the first time I get in the car to drive it since the trip, I turn it over, and hear a slap-slap-slap! WTH? We look under the hood to find the water pump took a complete dump, smacking the fan all up against the radiator. I mean wobble city, but no fluid leak. Crazy, the car made it home for me - then broke! That's a real loyal and devoted car right there, folks! I am so happy it didn't break on the road I almost don't care that I have to buy some parts and go to work!

Wow, great trip so far. Friday-Monday in Oakville. Great friends. Good times. Thanks to Ted and Dave (awesome accommodation!)

We drove north to Sudbury and then west to Marquette, MI. Spent the night at Trey's (more great accommodation!) Worked on the three e28s.

A few pics from the trip. First one just east of Iron Bridge, Ontario. Second somewhere in the UP. 27.5mpg so far.
