My list? Coilovers, E34 540 brakes, and I'd just love to finish an e2i swap before then.

If anyone has a spare grille screw fastener for an E28 on their parts car and doesn't mind parting with it I could use one. I'll give ya a beer for it...

My list...

Just re painted my bumpers, rear wing, and mirrors yesterday.

This week is to re paint the door handles, cleanup engine bay, install oil catch can, and dye my rear seat.

Next week is to put a coat of wax on it and a good interior detail. Also try to find some good floor mats since mine have seen bettery days.

rmiddendorf wrote:I'm starting to get excited. Heinz runs fine now but there are still a few things to do.

Mandatory:
1. Replace in tank pump gaskets including the sending unit's gasket.
2. Change oil.
3. Replace left headlight.
4. Serious wash.

Optional:
1. Paint grilles trim black.
2. Glue driver's side b-pillar trim.

My list is totally reasonable. What's your list?
All done! Changed the oil for the first time since my stewardship today. That S38 took more than the noted 5.3 qts. Probably closer to 5.8 and we're still not at the full mark, just a hair lower.

I was also only able to partially glue the b-pillar trim. I think the material has shrunk and its hard to get it to hold around onto the back.

So I'll get to drive him tomorrow, and then its likely that the next trip in Heinz will be leaving next Thursday for the main event. Hope you all are getting ready too- I'm totally stoked!

Stuff I must do or I am taking my coupe:
-Hankook RS3 tires - DONE
-Install Gaz coilovers
-E34 540i brakes
-Stainless brake lines
-750i LCA's and Moosehead UCAB's
-Come to grips with the weird springs on said coilovers
-I should probably roll my fenders, alternatively learn to enjoy the sound of fender-rub
-Oil change

Stuff I'd like to do, but won't have the time
-e to i swap
-Remove LSD and replace with 2.93 open
-Tarbocharge (this is admittedly a pipe dream, at least I have the manifold for it.)

Hey, gang! I need another room. I am on the waiting list at the Hawthorne but I'm desperate. If you are thinking about not coming or if something comes up, I will PayPal you $25 to give your reservation to me.

PLEASE do not call the hotel to cancel your reservations if you can't make it, call ME. I will work it out so that when you call the clerk will know to assign your room to me. Again, $25 just to work with me to get your reservation if you can't make it.

I can force my staff to sleep in the helicopter if needs become dire. Let me know.

Not gonna happen. I'm bringing the prevost for my entourage and it has the helipad taken. But I'm still rooming with cville to make the trip more authentic.

So I am torn as the 22nd comes around as the deadline to register. I'm showing up, just not exactly sure how.

Motorcycle? I'm mentally prepared, but the weekend calls for some goofy weather in Winston Salem.

528e? Just started driving it a couple weeks ago, seems fine with no apparent issues. Somewhat not show worthy, but might be interesting...

Z3? Worst case scenario, but would be great thru RTT. Eh.

In any situation, I am free with my time and have as long as I need to get back home. Money is not as much of an issue right now.

So Yuuuuup. What are y'alls thoughts? I'm still leaning towards motorcycle, but I am still yet to bring an old BMW to an old BMW event. Lol.

I'd do the Z3. It will be the most fun on RTT. Sounds like a lot to do on a motorcycle but I'm not the one to make that call.

If you bring the GS, then you can pretend you're Neal Peart. Also if you bring the GS, take the long way both down and back. Highway + Motorcycle = Pretty soon you won't like motorcycles anymore.

But if I were you, I'd bring the eta. I'm planning on bringing my eta, even though I have an E86 M.

Doesn't really matter as its all about the people. My only question is how will you communicate via CB radio in a roadster or on a bike?

528ix gets my vote.
