If Willys was still making Overlands, that is what they would look like. Anyway...
Two cruises past a Euro garage in Plymouth, beside FDHQ. Wed, just a E 34 535i and a jewel of a Mercedes 280C ca 1970. Yesterday there was a late 80s Land cruiser 4 door in addition. I also saw what looked like a 54-56 Rocket 88 coupe on a ramp truck. Custom paint and skirts.
Davintosh, was the DS as old as the one pictured? Back in HS, I had a 5$ DS 19. I drove it long enough to be impressed with its features. Melding the brakes and suspension into one system. Radials disc brakes, FWD. Quite forward looking

Here are a couple I saw recently:
First is from today; another i8 in the wild. Looks much better in all black than the silver-blue two-tone that seems to be in all the promo photos.
Next is an old Merc that was parked behind one of my favorite restaurants up in the hills near here. No license plate on it, but the tires had air in them, and other than the strap holding the trunk closed and the lumber on the hood/windshield, it looked like it drove straight out of 1983.
Finally is one just for fun. Spotted this guy parked at the
Cité de l'Automobile museum in Mulhouse. In case you're wondering what's so special about it, it's the license plate. I don't think that's accidental. If I had a car registered in the North Rhine/Westphalia region, I'd probably do something similar.

Definitely out of the ordinary, a Morris Minor convertible with
semaphores. Not sure what the production numbers on those were let alone imported into the US, but I doubt very many. The semaphore is hard to see, but it's there about knee high.

Saw a Fisker Karma on the way to work this morning, pretty cool.

A 53-59 Studebagel 1/2 ton pickup. I spied it across a pking lot .They have a very distinctive rear window This one looked original. It even had bias ply tires. Just like E28s the 53 -59 pickups remained unchanged through their entire run.

E24 M6 outside a shop in Anne Arundel County. Maybe doesn't qualify as a rare bird per se but not something you see too often.

I actually saw another e28 today! I was driving, running a bit late, plus it was snowing out and dark, so didn't take the time to stop & check it out, but it was an honest to goodness e28 at the dealership right down the street from me! So exciting! Probably not out of the ordinary anywhere but here; it's the third one I've seen since relocating here a year & a half ago. And one of those three is my own car.
What I did see; it's black, has hubcaps on steelies, a single tailpipe (so most likely an M20 or M10), had a spoiler on the trunklid along with an out of place ///M badge. I'll be wandering up that way tomorrow for sure.

Funny you call it that. I used to live about one mile from Studebagels Restaurant in South Bend.

Heh heh I drove past a Morris saloon of that style today going into Hyannis My brother bought a canary colored Morris 'vert about this time of year 1973. Imagine a rail thin 6'3 guy with an Afro that made him 7,' driving it in the dead of winter, top down. It came with a crank

Well, I got at least one detail wrong; it's dark green, not black. Green interior too, which looked pretty much perfect, including a crack-free dash (green!) Crank windows, no A/C, towing hitch, 5-speed. Just over 100,000 kilometers. Looks like they resprayed the wheels with silver paint, but didn't bother masking the tires. Really, really nice looking car. No price in it just yet; it'll be interesting where they price it.
Edit: Forgot to mention an important feature; SLICKTOP!

That's a good looking car, except for the spray painted tires.

I used to think the small engine ones must be sooooo slow, but they're lightweight. Looks like a 520i was about the weight of a US spec E21 320i, with somewhat more power, eta ish power. So another 20HP with 3 pedals would be at worst peppy and fully driveable. Not so sure with an auto, but it seems people still know how to drive a stick over there.

Ferrari F12, 4xRS4 B5, E21 320i. Those are just the best I saw on the way up to St. Moritz.
Just lovely.

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere here before, but I can't imagine clicking through 64 pages to confirm that this is old news. Anyhow, saw a Google self-driving car in Mountain View this morning, apparently being used to gather the Google Streetview data (spinning camera on top). The biggest surprise for me is how big the car is. The fugliness was no surprise.

I was in Charlotte NC a couple weeks ago and could have sworn I saw a Nissan Pao. It was all too quick to take a photo but I was

Saw a Silver, full M-Tech e28 in gorgeous condition this morning on Laurel turning onto India St in San Diego by the Casbah. It must be someone on this board.

Yesterday I saw an Aston Martin DB9 and an AMG SL63 parked at the curb within 50' of each other. My wife & the couple we're with just rolled their eyes when I fell behind because I was taking photos of them. I rolled my eyes when they just walked by without noticing them.

On the way home from my Mom's today.
Not as rare around here as an e28 but still sorta rare to see just driving around and not at a show.
