UPDATE 2/7/2016:

Not to beat this thread to death, but in the spirit of others buying from Overdrive, here goes...

I replaced both bowden cables on the seats, various screws, pins as well as clamps for the adjustment for the tension bars to move the seats forward and backwards. The broken seat base was welded by a friend at work who is a body man, and a good one. The weld is very strong comparatively to what it was (a couple tacks from what I saw, and only a few MM of actual metal holding the seat front hinge on the base together. Re-riveted it and adjusted everything.

Voila!

Seats worked well, I couldn't test the front function due to them being not bolted down in a car. But I am nearly 100% certain the very mechanical front function indeed works.

In short, I want to APOLOGIZE for my frustration and annoyance over this issue. I tried to be straight up, and I felt that the issue was not that Overdrive / Iveta tried to sell me junk intentionally. I just felt that they weren't looked at carefully.

The local buyer who I told sorry, forget it, was still interested and stayed in touch. He just picked them up today and I helped him load the seats into his truck.

Overdrive sent me the seats. He followed through. He replied when I e-mailed him. I was upset due to the numerous and seemingly insurmountable issues, but BMW still sells parts for these seats. All in all, I probably spent another $100 to make the seats function.

As before, good luck to all and SORRY for being so upset Overdrive. I'm sure you hate me, but I was able to sell them and likely they won't come back due to issues. I think he is happy to have them going into his E34 540i.

Yikes, I'm definitely on the side of Spen. That's pretty bad and if that happened without putting 500psi on it, it shouldn't have been sold. (Also, clever finger use on your part Spencer)

WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOHAUSAZ. I bought a set of hoot struts/shocks and they came thrown in the bottom of the box with some packaging on top. One came partially in one of the sealed sleeves (poked through) and the other one had breached the sleeve completely. I called and the phone rang and rang and rang, I didn't even get a phone tree thing or a voice mail. Do not buy anything from them.

I can understand you being frustrated. IMO, you're jumping the gun a bit here. Autohausaz will stand behind what they sell. If there is a problem, you need to talk to them and I'm confident they will resolve this issue. Although I've never had an issue with them, I do have a friend who had a part fail prematurely and they stood behind it 100% and were great to work with.

You do realize that many times parts are drop shipped from a supplier. Perhaps that's what happened, or maybe someone didn't take the time to pack it correctly. It happens. I don't know why the phone rang off the hook, but it's not like they knew it was you calling and they just ignored the call knowing you got "screwed".

They are in business to stay in business. Good luck!

If I'm paying for parts for my car, I don't want them just tossed in a box. Yes maybe that was a bit of an overreaction, I'll admit, But I think every single member of this forum would be unhappy with receiving a box of parts that were carelessly packaged

Maybe so - and I'm sure Autohauseaz doesn't want parts shipped haphazardly either. Personally, I let people know when something isn't packed well - including some on this very forum. But I have never said don't but from them - at least based on that. (actually I've never said don't buy from anyone on here) One manifold I got turned out to be full of crap a mouse had used to make a home. But by your own admission, you've not even talked to Autoshousaz about this issue. You got pissed off because no one answered your phone call. Do you think maybe they were busy? With so many orders coming via the internet, many supply houses have cut back on phone reps due to the shift in business. It's what they must do - not that you or I like it. The parts might actually be fine despite the packing - but you've issued a DO NOT 'BUY because you are disappointed that the items weren't packed very well. I'm not saying that's not a reason to be concerned - but that is hardly what this thread is intend for.

Seriously - you have not even talked to them about your issue. Take a deep breath, hit the reset button and give them a call.

Andy - Don't worry about it - it's so easy to see how this would happen. It also highlights that the buyer of parts needs to look closely at what's been purchased - mainly due to the fact that these are old cars and it's likely they have been sitting around.

Then there is the other reason to look closely at the parts - sometimes sellers doctor parts or represent them as something they're not. This is NOT something Andy does - but I'll give an example from another seller. I bought an euro headlight conversion in 'excellent' condition. When I unpacked it, the plastic grill had been spayed with WD-40 to make the black look shiny. It was obvious the seller put the oil on to cover up a grill that had been poorly repainted and the oil was trying to cover that up. There were other surprises from that seller too.

Have you posted any more info on the seller who sold you those parts? Since MYE28 occasionally has ads for Euro-headlight conversions (sometimes from overseas sellers), I'd like to hear more about it.

Has anyone had any dealings with Allin83? I purchased an instrument cluster from them and was told it would be shipped Wednesday and at the end of Wednesday I was told it hadn't been shipped yet. I've sent two PMS since then inquiring about shipping status, both read/received but not replied to. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this person as they are relatively new on the site. I'm not too worried about anything right now at all; they could be very busy I know they're parting out a number of different cars across a few sites I think; I just thought I would put a post up to get a feel for what I should expect

After having been duped by Uberdeus and getting saved by PayPal, I had a wonderful experience with Alpineass. Everything was just as described, although it took him a little to ship (it was the holidays, and he was busy installing some lifts at his garage, so I forgive him), also he was so patient with all the questions and all the mind changing that I did. I guess the only good thing about me, is once I am satisfied with the description, and my mind is made, I send money right away. Purchased euro bumpers, a front valance, and a Pfeba spoiler from "dogabon."

Pros: Fast, efficient shipping with pretty good packaging. I received my goods in 4 business days from Spain to USA.

Cons: The actual condition of the parts. This seller advertises his parts as "VERY GOOD" "GOOD!" "NO RUST ON INNER SIDES!" ETC ETC ETC. I asked for more pictures after stumbling upon his ad and he sent me some. They looked DECENT, but I decided to pull the trigger considering the price. Upon receiving the bumpers, I noticed bad surface rusting a few pieces. After emailing the seller, he was offended at my concerns, saying that "RUST IS SUPERFICIAL." I was given my refund back upon request, but after realizing it'd cost me $800 to ship it back across the ocean, I gave him his money back for his parts.

I can back this up. I purchased an instrument cluster from them around 2 months ago. Payment was sent on Monday January 25th, Tuesday January 26th I got a message saying that it would be shipped later that day and would arrive Friday the 29th. I inquired about a tracking number the day after payment was sent and got no response. On the 27th (Wednesday), I got a message saying that it had just been shipped. That Friday (29th) rolled around and nothing. I sent a message and was told "Looks like monday or tuesday boss I just did regular shipping." Fine, I wait until Monday February 1st, nothing. The 2nd? LOL nope. It took until February 5th of shoddy communication and frustration to get my package. Now, I'm a reasonable man and I know what a pain it can be to ship something. Especially something delicate. HOWEVER, I get home that Friday and I see my package on the stoop, I'm overjoyed to put a working, model correct cluster in my car. I run inside, panting like a dog and ecstatic. (Who doesn't like getting car parts in the mail?) I grab my box cutter, cut away the tape, and open the box. My joy and happiness melted away faster than a Lancia in the rain. The housing glass(?) was completely shattered. The white casing was dirty and the 8 screws that hold it all together were more corroded and rusted than a penny dipped in battery acid. I got them out with pliers, vinegar, and patients. They just wrote the intro for the tragedy that lied inside. There were cobwebs all over, battery acid EVERYWHERE, rotted ribbon cables, and moisture destroyed boards. The SI board ribbon cables weren't even plugged into anything but I was told that it worked. When I sent a slightly spicy message asking what the fuck I was sent, I was told it may have been damaged in shipping....yeah fuckin right. I was offered the possibility to send it back and get my money refunded. It did take me a bit to get back to this message, I will admit. A week and a half after receiving the message that I could send it back for a full refund, I replied asking about an address and details of the sort. My message was opened but never replied to.

Buyer beware. Allin83 offers parts for prices that seem too good to be true and we all know the saying about things that seem too good to be true, they probably are.
