I thought about that and even switched the grounds, but even with their datalogging software reading from the exhaust i still get a 21.0 lean reading ALL THE TIME...no matter if i add gas or i'm @ WOT or whatever.

I hooked it up exactly the same way i would in my bro's e28 and i can't believe it worked. the only difference is where the sensor was put, at the stock e28 exhaust location right before the cat. Called the guys @ Zeitronix, They weren't any help.

Hey, Just thought i'd check in and give an update of whats going on.

I needed a wideband and i was in a pinch, so i went ahead and bought a JAW (Just another wideband) from www.14point7.com

I received it yesterday assembled with a blown voltage regulator :( So tommrow when the stores open im going to swap it out and get it running. I got the cool LCD display for AFRs which i really like. Still debating where to put it...

I also picked up VDO vision Vac/boost gauge. I love it and mounted it like this guy:
Image

I also got rid of the bosch recirc valve and picked up a turbosmart dual port BOV. I liked it gives me a nice sutile "pssh" sound and is adjustable

I like it there, I can keep tabs on my boosting with a quick glance for from the corner of my eye with my momo wheel

I also took the e30 out for its longest drive since being boosted, a 5min drive around my area. Since i got my boost controller hooked up and took care of some leaks I make 5psi in 1st now only going up to 5k  still have yet to see full (7psi) boost but i'd really want to get some tuning done before I do that. I can't wait to drive this thing full time!

I've been looking into diff ratios and I like that a lower ration diff will put more load on the turbo in lower gears so my buddy has a 2.76S Im going to try. What do you guys think? too low? Im thinking if the diff doesn't kill acceleration too much it would be mint for 5th gear crusing.

Well, I've been doing some more driving and while it makes boost easily (bumped it up to 10psi) I'm thinking now this H1C is too small...I'm currently looking around for good sized t3 footprint turbos that may work better. If anybody has any suggestions lets hear em!

Nothing wrong with a responsive turbo. If its adversely affecting the torque curve, then you know its too small. A dyno run is the best way to tell.

Can you measure the pressure before and after the turbine?

^^^I don't think the exhaust housing is the problem (18cm2) but I was just thinking the 50mm/82mm comp. wheel was on the too small side...I will try to see what i can do with it...

I did some datalogging/tuning tonight...for some reason the car feels faster when i'm a passenger...damn passenger-in-your-own-car effect. I'm happy with my intercooler, Its a wet cool 15degC and on the highway my IATs are about 19-21degC and 24-28degrees on the street. Running about 12psi

Here's a 4th gear pull me thinks:

Image

I think i'm going to dyno it in the weeks to come. I wanna see how the H1C is working as turbodan suggested.

It might have been low since i was still using my laptop off power from the cig lighter with the car off.

I kinda have good news...I boughts another turbo today. Brand new

It's a Master Power T-64 T04E..

Compressor measurements:
Inducer:64mm
Exducer:91mm
A/R:0.70
49trim

Turbine measurements:
Inducer:71mm
Exducer:64.5mm
A/R:0.70
76trim

Heard alot about Master power turbos on a lot of supra and mustang/LS1 forums...It'll be nice to see how this turbo performs on zee m30.

I would seriously recommend grounding all the sensors at the connector to the MegaSquirt box, I don't think you have done that way. Your CLT and MAT are all over and there is a lot of ripple in your TPS signal too. Grounding the proper way will calm things down a lot, the early recommendations left this part out but I see they added something about it now.

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/V3assemble.htm#ew

They apparently saw the error in their ways
Pin #19 is the sensor ground. If you have two wire CLT and IAT sensors, their grounds (and the TPS ground) should run back to the DB37's pin #19 to reduce the potential for noise in the sensor signals.

Mattias, I think it has to do with the firmware i'm using (i think its the last beta before the current RC so its sorta werid  )

Another small update..

Car is back in pieces again :( I sold my H1C and my Master power turbo I think was sent out today after a final balancing. After doing some research I found the wheel sizes are very comparable to the HKS T04r...I plan to run it at about 14psi or as much as the injectors allow me

I had some bad stuffs happen this week, i was driving around the block and the crank nut had worked itself loose and was jumping around in the pulley then it somehow destroyed my rad :( and my lower timing cover was still leaking so i tore into it all and I'm waiting for a chance to go to my buddys' place to get a washer for the crank nut since I lost mine.

I hope next week when the turbo comes and I get another rad I can put everything together and test it out!!!

Oh and I ordered ARP studs so it should make for some more fun

I'm 100% certain your problem is not software, it's a grounding issue.

The end of the year has come for my E30 and it is currently sleeping, i picked up a stock 90' 325i DD all stock to carry me around which means i can do more evil stuff to the turbo car.

Next year im looking to clean things up, Go bigger on Injectors (#60 minimum), I have a13psi spring laying around i'll throw in and get my lazy butt to a dyno to tune the ignition.

It was a good year taking on the STEEP MS learning curve but i'm 100percent comfortable with the software now and fuel tuning. Can't wait to play with timing. I also ran into other issues along the way but have learned TONS in troubleshooting EFI problems.

Here are some pics from a final E30 gathering 2 weeks ago, car kicked ass! I also have up my fuel/timing tables.

I guess i must be doing something right, I didn't blow the HG :alright:

Congrats!
Can we get some more pictures of the turbo placement?

How does that turbo fit with the tcd log since it's for
on center housings?

I didn't use that turbo, I went ahead and bought the stg3 turbo from TCD.

Looks like tunerstudio on vista.

Who uses megatune anymore? It's a turd once you use

Megatune works fine, and I almost have to use it. Due to my tuning laptop is a such a flaming piece of junk it doesn't even like to run tuner studio well.

A reminder why i thinks i need to do more tuning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOiyXh9eyks

Small run against a s54 swapped e46 325i, only mods are headers.

started in 3rd, got briefly into 4th before somebody gets in the way. Only running ~8psi and the S3.73. If there was nobody in the way he would've got passed easily. The run had me thinking about having longer gears and more boost of course :D

So thinking about more boost and what not, How is my timing map looking guys? Im thinking I'd want to get a bit more agressive on the timing from 5k to redline. I want to stay running 91 pump since its available everwhere but there is 94 as well, just not at all stations like 91 is. IF i can run a good amount of additional timing with 94 and make more power i may just make the switch.

A small update...no pics though.

Last weekend I addressed something long over due - finally changing my leaky steering rack that took a crap on me right before i put the car into storage...So i took the opportunity to do an e36 rack swap which ended up costing me 0$ :D The stock e30 turining ratio is 4.0 lock to lock while the e36 is 3.2...kinda big difference. I also have been having some issues with my MS so it's been sent over and is in Peter's hands right now. I can't wait to get back a super clean problem-free MS! Lastly I'm going to be ordering a TRE peformance 255lph pump to replace my single in-tank stock pump.

For the time being im going to continue to run my 7psi until I have the tune nailed down and get monies for 60lbers. That probably wont be until the mid/end summer months. I have a 14psi WG spring that will go nicely with it

Oh and i need wheels/tires...Hit a bad pothole = bent steelies :(

nice work i hope to some how send my ecu off to peter in the hear future ass swell and be able to run 2 banks instead of one finally.

I really liked the look of the steelies on your car i would also like to see, if you went with steelies again something like da red rockets wheel covers on your car. Either way im sure you will find something good.
