I dug the e12 out today and decided to tinker with the steering rack a bit. It's mildly discouraging. I'm also looking for big e28 sway bars to adapt into it.
After spinning my wheels on the rack conversion idea I have decided to scrap it and go with the steering box that worked perfectly. Maybe under trumps rule this car will breathe again...

I have loved this E12 since I first saw it years ago (back when it was being driven routinely ). Keep the progress going Brent! The finished progress will be worth it for you!

Thanks, the finished product is never worth the effort or as satisfying as you think it will be but it keeps me off the streets. It's either cars or living in a gutter with a needle in my arm. I've been working mostly on e30s lately, that alone will make you want to turn to drugs.
