Squeeze me? Could someone who is knowledgeable about the B10's chime in, please?
If this is legit, I'm sure there is an interesting story on how it wound up in Georgia 20 years later in such a sad state.
There are several interesting details, but the gauge cluster, interior, and of course the wheels tell a conflicting story.

I think he does buy them, drives each on for exactly 100 hours, and then puts them back on the market when he's done -- which is why there is an oddly disproportional number of excellent BMWs in South Carolina.

No knowledge of B10's needed here...the seller states that it is a (poorly attempted) "clone", and the VIN corresponds to a RWD US-spec 530iA Touring, as confirmed by the data plate. Just lots of Alpina stickers applied...
There DOES seem to be a lot of nice BMWs for sale in SC, and I've wondered why. Maybe the BMW manufacturing facility there creates a lot of local enthusiasm and brand loyalty? Anyway, good job digging these up greymarket; you could be driving a Yugo for all I care.
I really like that M635 but have never seen one with body-colored bumpers.... a little too much red for me. Otherwise, very tasty.

If you must know, I first became obsessed with e24s as a teen in the '80's when I spied several of them at a local shade-tree mechanic in central Virginia. Many years later, I bought an '85 635CSi. I first poured a lot of money into a mechanical restoration, e32 750 big brakes, 3.73 lsd, Conforti chip, Bilstein sports on BavAuto springs, re-paint from black to diamond black, replaced dash, added a set of silver BBS RS wheels, etc. Come to find out the coupe is based on the e28 chassis thanks to my Bentley manual. Got it all finished and sold it a few years later. Now that I have a family and cannot tolerate a coupe in my life, the e28 makes more sense to me. I'll post pics when I get home tonight.

I don't understand what the problem is. By all accounts, he seems to be an enthusiast and loves these cars just the same as any of us. Whether or not he owns an E28 is immaterial. I know of at least a few people on this board who don't currently own one; their ownership status shouldn't preclude their participation. Maybe he is in the market and sharing his finds along the way. For the most part, I think they are interesting, and I don't find his contributions to be unwelcome.

I never named my car, but ownership was akin to 'beauty and the beast'. The biggest lesson I learned during my ownership was that I should never again buy cheap (neglected).

Selling my 1989 BMW 635csi. In excellent condition and runs like new. Garage kept. I am the third owner. Have all the bills and receipts. Selling this car because the wire harness was burned and insurance wrote it off as being totaled. Interior and exterior are in almost perfect condition aside from a minor crack on front bumper. Has a little over 140k miles. All it needs to be up and running is a new wire harness. Asking $5,000 or best offer. Cash or cashers check only. Any questions ask.
I had a look at that guy today. Fairly solid, engine still needs a bit of putting-back-together after the rebuild, super nice guy selling it. A couple of electrical concerns but nothing significant. PM me if you're interested in more.
I have for sale a 1986 BMW 535i with some rare euro goodies. The car was found in a barn in southern Georgia and was not driven for years.
The car has original 87,000 miles on it. I started to restore her but ran out of time and money. My loss is your gain.
The car is in pretty good shape with some dings and scratches on the hood and one of the fenders. The paint is still in pretty good shape, but considering it has
the original single stage paint on it, it could use a good buff to bring out the shine! There is minimal rust on it from what I could find. I have owned quite a few e28s and e30s
and have seen much much worse. What is on there could easily be fixed.
When I started to restore it I found a REAL euro M535i that was imported over to Georgia and then was totaled out in a front end collision. I was fortunate enough to grab a few
euro goodies off the car. I took the rare Euro Getrag 265 transmission which was never available in the US Market. I also took the M535i dashboard which includes the center vent
on the top which was never functional in the US cars. Since the original 1986 cluster did not work, I also took the M535i M5 cluster. This is why the cluster says 128k miles, but rest assured the car has only 87k miles on it. See the picture of the title.
There are plenty of other parts on the car which is listed below.
The Bad:
The car runs and idles fine, but for some reason when the clutch is engaged the engine wants to die. I think this could be a simple solution being a vacuum line or bad MAF. I
don’t have time to tinker with it as I have quite a few other projects. For this reason the car will have to be towed or trailered back to your location. Needs a catback exhaust as well. This is unfortunate but the amount of rare parts on the car will make up for it. This is your chance to get a nice E28 at a bargain price!

Niki Lauda BMW M1. Henna Red with 17k km. This is a very rare car with only around 400 built. The car was given to Niki Lauda after his 79 procar championship season. He was raising money for his airline and we bought it, shipped over from Europe and never took it out of the shipping container.

On the CL? That doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. Maybe the poster is named Franklin Jones and he hails from Nigeria? CL is not the proper forum for that veeee-hickle.
Anyone in the area to go see it? I'd used a burner phone to contact, and bring backup when you go to lay eyes on it. Just because I'm paranoid.
