I don't think I can come up with something better to do, so I guess I'm driving south.

I know it'll be nice.

Did you get flares, is that the welding?
It won't be nice this year. It'll just be. The rivet nuts are getting silicone and the edges of the bumpers will be cut. I drove it around the block and need to find an oil leak and might have noise from the right axle.

I just need to weld tabs for the front mtech wheel skirts, but need to weld about 3 inches back to the rear arches. It'll just get two coats of Rust Bullet on the bare metal for now.

I could always chicken out and take the white car, but where's the adventure in that?

I'll tour with y'all Sunday then will turn homeward to attend a Wedding Monday evening. He won't have any trouble remembering his anniversary!

I will remember to put the CB radio antenna on this year. Anyone else plan to be on the air?

I'm staying at the Hawthorne for Vintage weekend. Where does Mr. Twisty plan to rendezvous for the RTT Sunday morning departure?

IIRC, most of the RTT crew will be staying in mt. Airy. I'm supposed go be at Hawthorne, too. We'll caravan sunday morning, if you don't mind.

It's officially begun for me.
Dropped wifey off at my daughter's house, who'll drive her to the airport for her 6:00AM flight in the morning.

FYI, The drivers meeting will start around 10:30 at the Hampton inn in Mt Airy on sunday morning. The first day is pretty short by RTT standards so no big rush besides some folks may be moving slowly on sunday.

Well I am officially excited!!!!. I cant wait to hit the road. While the two year rebuild of the Hartge is still not completely finished I should be able to make the trip. Ofcourse I have only put on about 800 miles since the rebuild and O miles since the new MAF conversion. I actually have to drive two hours north to pick the car up this evening. Im hoping for the best. Still have a shimmy which is offically related to the Bilstiens sports( there is nothing else left it could be) which are valved with an extra 50% rebound.
That old H5s has always been an excellent little car l. Its really a raw car , lightened significantly, it drives and rides like a track car.. anyway I get all the emails from my friends who are finishing final touches and I havent had wax on my car in two years... I dont even care I just want to drive my old friend.

I will be sporting a CB radio for the drive. I meet cousin Billy on friday morning and we will head to the Hampton in Mt Airy. Looking forward to drinking a Coldee with my brothers. see many of you in a few days. !

Adrian, make sure to get some pictures of the H5S. Hopefully the maiden voyage goes without issue.

Too bad I'm not going this year, canceled hotel reservations the other day. Didn't get on my long to-do list for the 535is over the past 6 months and wasn't interested in driving the E39. The 518i is in hibernation pending a bunch of required work, but maybe for next year it will go on a road trip.

Or so is the goal...

Will do Justin. I wish you were making it as well. I have fond memories of our sharkfest/5er Fest tour. I will never forget driving though kentucky early in the morning or that little road we took because it looked cool. We were really rewarded with some outstanding driving on that trip.

We just got in to the Hampton in Mt. Airy and somebody from the RTT crew with TX plate on the dash needs to go out and check their interior lights-they're ON! It's 1:00 AM on Saturday.

See you guys in the little bit later AM.

Well, that wasn't a picture I wanted to see of the H5S. Will be a good trip if that is the only hiccup. Adrian, did something happen before at Sharkfest?

Same hose different pulley. AC compressor pulley was touching the lower rad hose during hard driving. I had a brand new AC belt installed during the rebuild I'm thinking it's possible the belt was slightly larger than before and the compressor got scooched a little closer to the hose this time. No worries it's all good rtt rocks folks are having a blast. Yesterdays route turned out great, food last night and commradere was fantastic. Today it's only 6 hours through the holler to get to the casino.. Yeeeeehaw
