Also, the front calipers are too big for almost all other Mercedes wheels. They will hit the back of the wheel face.

I'm not sure that an AMG C36 should be called worthless. Prices have bottomed out but if you take a look at what's happening right now to 500E's, I would guess that these cars will appreciate pretty soon.

Matte Black isn't for me but your prep and work paid off, that is nice and smooth!

Agree, you do know how to work a metal panel. Very impressive finish quality, at least as far as the pics show.

I wish you lived closer; I have some vehicles that need some help and finding quality body guys who care to run a business seems to be impossible in Chicago.

I don't, but there are people that do good work all over the place, you just need to put your ear to the ground.

Love the matte black with gloss trim. Gloss black wheels would look neat, IMO. Gaudy, definitely, but you invited that look as soon as you decided you didn't want gloss. You should do headlight wrap next.

I'm not a write up kind of guy nor do I feel qualified to do such a thing.

This thing passed smog yesterday and I picked up a whole bunch of parts for it. New brembo rotors, pads, censors, wheel bearings, air filter, exhaust hangers and oil/filter. I really enjoy driving this car as a daily.

I still need to paint the wheels and a few trim pieces but that will happen in time, other people's stuff comes first... sometimes

Yesterday I got the car it's new registration and today it breaks down on me, the asr light came on and went into limp mode. So far I am mostly frustrated and partially bewildered, I'm not sure what to do at this point. I spent most of the day trying to diagnose it but so far have got no where. Im thinking about buying a basic car or truck to drive and park this until I have the time to fix it.

Throttle body?

Remove the asr/abs control module and see if it takes the car out of limp mode. It should run and drive fine without it.

If it does you know that module is your problem.

Start with a battery reset. Move to brake switch, which is common, cheap and easy to replace (consider it preventative). Obviously, check for codes with a Star type software.

This, plus shoving your head in places where electrics are stored, like glovesbox, kick panel, under seats, fuse block, and trunk. Listen for any buzzing or relays clicking over, especially when you move wire bundles. Anywhere that sees heat can corrode or the shielding can become brittle and cause a short, so I would personally start at the battery side and work backwards from greatest to least power consumption/flow. So Battery > Fuses > ECU > ABS/Trac modules > Other bullshit. Depending on how the car is actually set up, and if there's anything actively preventing it from working if you do this, but I'd start unplugging the unessentials, like radio, seats, windows, defroster, etc. Whether by directly unplugging the box that controls it or swiping the fuse is up to you.
One paper towel roll and one ear plug will help with this.

One of the first things I did, no codes...
