So last night we were yakking with a new guy at dinner, and were talking about how you could tell the new guys from the old guys.
"Yeah, the old guys all have the big bags under their eyes, and the new guys are still bright eyed."
I was sitting across from another "old guy" and he was looking at me all fucked up. I'm thinking, "What the hell are YOU looking at? I'm fine, I don't look like the walking dead..."
I visit the head later and REALLY take a look at myself in the mirror... fuck.

Been saving post #5555 for this...
We flew out of Afghanistan.
I'm not home yet, but I won't be receiving combat area allowances anymore.
We are all safe in Romania. It's green and wet.
Feels so good to relax and not expect random explosions, etc. anymore.

Great news! Not quite the same thing, but I sure was glad when the C-130 broke ground after 11 months remote in Alaska way back when. Have a safe trip home.
