E12 came off the lift today and made a small loop around the block. The sway bar mounts are not fully welded so I didn't want to drive all that much.

Things are coming together....a couple small things that need to be tended too. Exhaust leak from one of the couplers, alternator not charging....

Back on the ground and in the day light...

That's awesome. I hope I get to see this when I come up for the mini "tankfes". It's looking awesome, as always.

This thread is fantastic, glad I discovered it because Steve didn't tell me he was embarking on this V8 E12 quest! Now I know so I can hit him up for a ride when it's all done.

I have been fixing a couple small things the past couple weeks. Small exhaust leaks, oxygen sensor not giving a reading (bad connector not allowing the heater to work), etc

Here is the bad O2 sensor connector. It was pushing the mating connector out and not allowing them to plug together.

Because of the lack of room I wasn't able to use a flange to keep the pipes together so I had to use band clamps. They were not sealing...mostly because I wasn't cranking them down enough. 70-80ft lbs and now they are sealing.

Leaks are sealed up...got it aligned today. And now on to doing some adjustments to the tune. The PCM is from a 2002 camaro but then I blind adjusted it somewhat and it needs more fueling from what I have logged so far. The PCM will pull it back with the O2 sensors to stoich but it is much better to have the tune very close and not need the PCM to adjust so much.

A couple pictures of the just about finished engine bay. Still need to swap the AC drier, fill the AC, and put the strut tower brace back on.

Flew in Friday afternoon and picked the e12 up...Made it home at 230am
raced a late model STI in wisconsin after badgering him for miles .. He wanted nothing to do with me after looking at the car as he didnt want to waste his time Im sure.. but I kept after him.. We finally went from a 30 roll and I smoked him. Got pulled over for speeding and loud exhaust at 100am.. Nice cop... Let me off .
Car is a beast and Jake did an amazing job. It feels very balanced and handles great with all the new suspension and big sways. Id highly recommend Jake if youre looking for a swap of any sort,...

No way I'd want any part of a Sexually Transmitted Infection, but to each his own.

Congrats on the work done and best to you as you move forward with the 1st 5er.

I think Steve needs to start a punchcard system for your customers; after spending $xx you get a ride in the beast. After spending $xxx, you get to drive it. :haul:

Congrats on finishing & delivering the project, Jake. Here's to many more swaps.

Cant quit grinning driving this car. It just doesnt seem right.
Pulled all the doors apart and lubed and fixed some window issues. I scored mint door panels out of a 50k mile junkyard e12 in PA. They are perfect so im installing those. Installed an e28 sport interior just before I dropped the car at Jakes... Brandon is shampooing the carpet this morning and we are installing a decent stereo. Im debating cutting a coil. Its on Spax now. Im going to pull the rear fenders as its squatting under hard acceleration and shredding the rear tires. I can pull them a bit .. Id like to have the car an inch lower so I can pull off a set of throwing stars Im pulling off my M3

It's the wire for the vehicle detonation system.

Just in case Steve needs to destroy all evidence and get away clean...
