Not out of the ordinary for this board, but the wife and I were walking down to get dinner last night (yes, people do walk in LA) when I saw a clean beautiful '88 M5 pull up to the traffic signal (Venice Blvd & Glendon Ave, WLA/Culver City). What was out of the ordinary about it were the NY tags it was sporting.
Anybody here we know?

On Lake Murray Blvd this afternoon. I thought it was a '67 because of the headlights but when we stopped for the light, he said it was a '64 with a 12v conversion.

Words can not express my want for one, and I don't even know why.

Saw this today, one of the nicest pre '86 vw rabbits I've seen (outside of Instagram) in a long time.



This was the other day, standard Marin commute rig (not the f150)

Good day in Golden, CO:

My in-laws have owned a bunch of land in the foothills above Golden since the 70s. To keep the property taxes down they rent the space out for a few horses and cattle to graze. Not a car, per-se, but sorta counts:



This thing is a kit-car. Powered by an Mazda rotary. The guy driving it said he used to run the company that built the kits.

The universe works in mysterious ways. Here in Minneapolis, land of the bland car, I randomly ended up traveling down the local hwy for a few miles in a caravan of BMWs to include my red e28, a blue 840csi in front of me, and a grey 2002 behind me. Surreal timing.

I talked to the owner of this Toyota and it was a barn find with 52,000 miles. He wouldn't tell me what he paid and he's not interested in selling.




Tennessee plates parked in a very bad part of town. Hopefully he isn't going to leave it overnight.




I don't think this VW had the stock engine because it seemed like it was able to get out of its own way.

Classic car day at work. Early oval window beetle (not sure on the year, beetle aficionados may be able to elaborate) and it's younger Carrera cousin. I especially like the original hood ornament on the bug. The Carerra is in great shape too and the same colour combo as my e28. It'd look rather good parked in my garage.

That RHD bug is old. Assuming that it had semaphore turn signals in the B pillar, the lack of bumper over riders and a small RW it would be a 53 or older. Great picture of an icon, Christian

Not exactly a car, but a motor vehicle of sorts. Some restoration work is being done on an old bridge and they brought in a big crane to help. Big doesn't do it justice, it runs on tracks and the inside of them didn't even reach the outer edge of the semi bed. Tracks were about 3' wide, with another foot between them and the bed. I'd estimate 16' wide, but it could be as little as 14'. Came in on a 58 wheeler, the lowboy had 3 pods of 16 wheels each, plus 10 for the truck pulling it. With 6 support trucks with counterweights and mast on them. And a separate just to move stuff around to put the big one together. Some research suggests it's 350 ton lifting capacity. One counterweight per truck and it did a pretty good job of bowing the truck bed. Talk about heavy metal.

Was driving, no pic, but atop a mobile parking garage was a mint, late 60s Dodge Coronet in orange.

Below it was a red E-type coupe with rust eating up the doors.....but still probably worth a ton of money.
