At the Menard's parking lot today;

Image

The license plate shows it's a non-commercial vehicle; probably some farmer who uses it like a pickup. A three ton pickup. :shock:

Those are nuts. I went past an F650 pickup Sunday but it was going in the other direction, too fast for a picture. One of these, in bright orange and white. Very subtle.

Ha! I'd go for Lookit Me Yellow with a big TONKA logo on the tailgate. ;)

I've seen this thing a couple of times in the last few weeks -- as far as I can tell it hasn't moved at all -- and finally stopped & snapped a couple of photos of it tonight. Looks to be a VW-based kit car, but I have no idea what model it is. There was a local guy who built something like it back in the early '80's and powered it with a small block Chevy mill; he would regularly humiliate guys on motorcycles with it in stoplight drags. I don't know if this is the same beast, but wouldn't be too surprised if it is. Somehow I doubt the duct tape adds anything to its HPs or its aerodynamics.

One of these rocketed by me at a billion miles an hour this morning. Dealer plates, natch.

Supposedly this is a $40K engine.

They effed up the new paint job installing it. My paint guy, Ken now gets to repaint the car.

Mercedes 600 limo set up for diplomat flags. The interior was in perfect condition and ready to transport your local dictator or drug dealer.

That's Eric Q.'s next car right there.

I saw something that exudes the understated elegance of the 600. The Golf Camaro

I almost spit milk out my nose when I saw this one. I was following it and when it stopped, I had to pull over and take pics. This is just too awesome not to share.

Saw it out of the corner of my eye and at first saw a FIAT 131, not exactly a memorable car in and of itself, but upon closer inspection no, it did have FIAT genes, but was instead the Iron Curtain version of the bottom feeder 127. The Yugo! This was at Pick and Pull of all places. So, you buy one of the most maligned cars of all time, from a junkyard, only to have to get smog, brake and light certs before you can drive it on the roads. Such a deal... :laugh:

So, do it.

Saw 2 E28s during my travels today, which is a rarity up here. A nice silver 533i passed me on I-84 east in Manchester around 5:15am. And later I met up with a forum member in his 528e (also very nice condition) to sell him a spare back seat I had. Saw lots of other nice cars and bikes out today in New England but those two stuck out for me obviously ;)

On our way out of town on Saturday, I caught sight of a nice looking Alfa -- I think it's a 1750 GT Veloce -- being trailered behind an e53 X5 (in Avus Blue, one of my all-time favorite colors) at a gas station. No idea if it was a local rig coming or going or just passing through... We were already behind schedule or I would've stopped to chat. :( I did have time at the stoplight to grab my cellphone & grab a snapshot of it.
