Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
We went for Concrete Mixers; hot fudge & brownie chunks for me. Yeah, the red is a little gaudy. I still think the T-Rex is the better looking machine in any color, but I'm sure they're both grossly overpriced, especially for this area where you can maybe use them 6 months of the year.

Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
I think they're ugly.
Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
That's ok; I won't judge.

On Rancho Bernardo Road today. No comment.

Saw this leaving work right after seeing a nice red e28 with partial shadowline. Haven't seen the car at any events and don't know if he's on the Board.

I saw a 1st generation Hyundai Excel today!! I remember when they first came to the states, my cousins got 2 of them(Sedans). The 1 I saw today was a hatchback. It was scooting along, with a little smoke behind It. Also lately I've seen two 84-85 Honda Accords. They were both in great shape, straight bodies from my view. These hold a special place in my heart because I always wanted a 86-89 body with the flip up headlights, but I ended up skipping that generation and owning an 1985 & then a 1990.

I had to do some work in north Scottsdale today and was waiting to make a left at a light this morning in a classy neighborhood.. I first saw an old 60's Ferrari convert, don't know old ferraris that well but it was definitely not a kit. Then saw a 930 turbo pass the other way, then an e-type jag made a left. To top it off right after I turned a 16v cosworth 190e passed me at near redline. All unrelated people driving, wish I could've taken a video cause that made my day.

Taken several months ago and obviously not the best quality picture, but this car was fantastic in person. My brother works for a shop who is affiliated with it and had it at an open house. It was getting detailed at the time, and then moved from one part of the shop to another. The noise this thing makes at start up/idle is awesome.

Living in Northeast Ohio, I never thought I would see one of these cars in person, let alone in such a 'personal' type setting.

While not as exotic as that car up there ^^^^ , sightings of cars like this B-body Bonneville are getting rarer as well. This one was in beautiful shape. From the county code on the license plate and the look of the guy behind the wheel, it was probably ordered from the factory by him and kept in the shed most days; his fancygoouttin' car.

And yeah; the crack.

We have regular sightings of those and their kin in FL. They are in the left hand lane on I-75 driving 10 MPH below the speed limit!davintosh wrote:While not as exotic as that car up there ^^^^ , sightings of cars like this B-body Bonneville are getting rarer as well. Didn't get a picture, but on my way home from work yesterday saw an orange Daytona Superbird headed south on I5 between Albany and Eugene. Shocked to see that. Rarer than the gullwing 300SL I saw in my neighborhood last year.

While visiting Chicago this week, I spotted these beauties parked outside of a high end dealer on Rush St...

Well it wasn't a 348 missing a front bumper or a Fiero with a small penis, instead it was this:
The very rare and elusive, perhaps exclusive F40ZX

I saw this thing on my way back from getting a CT scan from a guy doing a terrible job of faking a British accent. I caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye and had to turn around to take a picture. At first I thought, was that a real F40 parked on the street??? I was quickly disappointed and amused when I discovered its Nipponese origins. The guys at the shop were a little upset and were yelling at me as I drove away.

This was from yesterday but I'm back in my old patrol area and it looks like I have a new "car guy".

This was from today, next door to the BMW shop that serviced the e39 before I bought it.

Sorry, I don't have a picture available since I was late to a funeral...but I did see a little red hatchback driving away as I approached a stop sign. At first I thought it was a prototype of some sort, but I managed to get close enough to find out it was a Seat Ibiza! Had Mexican license plates and looked just like this:

I saw a red 4-door Aspire tonight. License plate said "MYFRARI."
Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
Last weekend was probably our first decent weather for a Saturday evening, and there was a really nice collection of hot rods that came out for the Saturday Rodder's meetup at the Hardee's parking lot. One of the notable machines was a '70 Monte Carlo with a little something different on the front end:

I think there was enough room between the engine & radiator for a second SBC.

This pickup was pretty cool; ratty old body bolted to a custom frame with everything in the running gear totally refreshed. It doesn't look like much, but it was impressive under the skin.

Really cool guy. He lost the spring perch on one of the trail at Rovers at Wintergreen over the weekend. I just happened to have a D1 frame with the parts that would fit. I also live 30 mins from Wintergreen. So he followed me.....with the spring zip-tied into place....to repair the truck. Took about 30 minutes. Was an honor having a D90 on my lift.Drew in NYC wrote:Pretty sure I have a shot of that car on my phoneslammin_e28 wrote:This was on my lift the other night....

Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
i saw a 1988 M6 in black today...beautiful ride. ain't nothing like the ole school.
Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
Saw what I think was a Lamborghini Aventador in Clinton IA last night. If you have ever been to Clinton, which I'm sure most have not, a car like that sort of sticks out. Made my e39 sport touring feel like I was a mile off the ground as we passed each other.
Re: What out of the ordinary cars did you see today?
About a week ago I saw this Noah rolling along the I-287 in Westchester. He seemed a long way from home, and it was sure strange to see zebras and giraffes looking at me during my evening commute. In the modern age, Noah uses a dually Dodge Cummins diesel as his source of propulsion.

My brother got to drive this home from work, it ticked all the right boxes for me. The color, the swap, its a touring, I loved it. Apparently it is a bit of a dog, and obviously the a v8 swap seems to make more sense. Awesome nonetheless

This "Donk" is so bad it stands out even in a sea of bad Donks.
Primer grey rattle can, rust starting to show through, custom painted red grill and headlight buckets (not stock color, looks worse in person than in picture), lifted suspension and wheels that cost more than the vehicle is worth. Skittles paint job coming next paycheck.

Also saw this super clean Scout with fresh paint and decals. Owner saw me taking the pic and fired it up for me. He had just done a major tune up and treated the ol' girl to a sweet new Magnaflow dual exhaust. Sounded SWEET!
