That looks like Alvin Tan's Dinan M3 Turbo. He has been trying to sell those wheels. I thought I had found the right set for my E30 M3 until I realized that you have to roll the rear fenders. Beautiful, just didn't want to risk cracking the original paint. Good luck with your project.RonP wrote:It could! Did you recongnize the storage area? He sent me some pictures of this funny looking car with the same wheels. The wheels are gorgeous - that looks like Markus' place in Germany - could it be?![]()

Operation Hartge "2"
Tim,
I met Alvin last weekend at Bimmerfest and saw his cars and they are spectacular.Jack (cactusjacks1) has the same car with the same wheels. Don't know which car is pictured, but it is really nice. Jack also has a beautiful ///M-Technic convertible that will knock your socks off.

Edit:
I think Alvin still has his wheels for sale!

Ron, those wheels are just downright sexy. Keep up the good work and inspiration. Thanks for the tidbit on Tuesday, I went by and picked it up as soon as I left your shop.
If you've never seen Ron's shop, don't go. I promise you it will disrupt your sleep for the next week or so. I haven't got a full nights sleep since. The only good thing to come from it is my ladyfriend thought I was dreaming about her
, which made my morning great.

Ron, that is his Dinan car you saw at Bimmerfest, now has the nogaro LM's on it. His 17's are still for sale - the Hartge's on my E30M3 are 3 piece staggered 18's (not for sale).RonP wrote:Tim,

I have been busy with a timeline on a customer pay e30 M3 that we are doing a full restoration on, so not much progress except for gathering up all of the bits and pieces for the Hartge. I also sold the Alpina B9 tribute car and have had to replace the headliner and front windshield, but yesterday was a beautiful day!!! I received the steering wheel freshly wrapped in leather, the new leather dash and Hartge instrument pod also wrapped in leather, and new leather door caps from one source. From my other source, we now have a complete new re-leathered seats, rear headrests, leahter e-brake console, e-brake handle, leather knee bolster, hvac leather console, and leather glovebox, We should get the new rear spoiler that is Hartge specific, but looks a bit like the Alpina. This replaces the Golden Gate Bridge rear spoiler. The headers, factory airbox, and intake plenum also came back from the powdercoater last week-still waiting for the Hartge valve cover. I also have dyed all of the M5 leather door panels and pulls to match the rest of the interior. Still have some work to do on the driver's seat attachment as it needs to be fixed as well as the headliner before we start assembling the entire cow in the interior.
The motor is just about ready to go back in the car as well as Phil is now done with all of his blasting of all the parts, re-sealing the motor, and re-sealing the motor. I still have to do some painting in the engine compartment. This car WILL be at Monterey for the concours in August and with time we have to re-assemble it, hopefully it will make us all proud and bring home a first place trophy! I have not won this event in an e28 since 2005, but this car will just be over the top!!!! I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of what still needs to be done, etc. and by all rights I should be waking up!!! There is so much to do! I will probably have to ask for some volunteers when we get down to the wire.
We will probably need to put a camber kit to fit the 9 1/2 x 17" wheels under the wheel wells and I still need to spend about three days under the car (on the lift of course) re-painting all of the suspension and undercarriage.
We did put the rear bumper on last week and finished putting on the rear tailinghts. We also put all new rubber (yeah all of it!) around the windows and I have most of the stripe kit on the car, but as far as the camera goes, the car really doesn;t look any different.....but stay tuned.

Mounted a tire on the rear wheel 17x9.5 and a 255-40-17 and here are some "teaser pics". Needless to say, I am quite happy with the look and it appears that there will be little if any modifications to be made so they don't rub. Also here are some "before" pics of the undercarriage. The motor is almost ready to go in and we now have all of the interior, plus I got the rubber rear spoiler back yesterday.
