How do you know wkohler's ancestors were Pilgrims? Mine sure as hell weren't, nor were most of today's white Americans. My ancestors originated in France and immigrated to the US. Check your facts before spouting off.

Whether intended as a joke or not, it was clearly an insensitive comment (especially given the way that "Thanksgiving" really started) and I hope he can understand why. I started another post on it but removed it. That having been said, would I have a beer with him and talk about that and many other things vehicular and political?

BTW I am also thankful that I can live and work in Atlanta GA -- where black folks were lynched in my lifetime -- with +90% whites (there are 3 blacks in my company at our site out of 40 employees) and have a great time. Thankful that one of my co-workers had me sleep over his house at Thanksgiving with his beautiful family in Villa Rica, now that is social progress and something for which to be thankful in terms of compassion, understanding and love
