FS: '85 535i Gray/Beige 5spd (Reno, NV)

Post by Tachyon »

Hey E28ers,

Up for sale is my '85 535i which has approximately 152k miles, 5spd, has been repainted satin gray (originally gold color). The engine is very strong, clutch feels good, and the previous owner upgraded to a larger, louder exhaust (looks to be custom muffler shop affair). The rear rotors are cross drilled and it has 17" turbine style rims. It's also been lowered with Bilstein (or Koni) shocks. Other than that, it's been regularly maintained.

Sold

What do you mean the OBC is blinking? the four little red dots? I have that too.

Well, in his car, it's different. To get the OBC to stop blinking with a "uhr" after it on OBC 2, get a toothpick (or similarly proportioned object and push the tiny round button on the lower right. Push and hold that, then press "AVG MPG" to switch to English units. Then, press "SET-RES" and use the 4 keys at the bottom (1, 10, 100, 1000) to enter the time. Press the tiny button again and you're set.

For OBC I (like you have Chris), Press the button in the lower right ("TIME") repeatedly until you get 4 zeros. Then, if PM time is required press "TIME" again. Enter the digits of the correct time using the awesome number keypad and the display should blink. At that point, press "START."

It blinks once if you enter it correctly.

Make sure you start with a 0 if it's a single digit before the colon.

Oh that's what I missed. Okay I think it'll work. what do I do if the colon doesn't show. Are there bulbs to replace for it? some of the numbers aren't full the 6 and 8 look like a backwards 3.... :(

You might need a new OBC module - probably not worth doing until you get more money. ;)
