The Thread of Randomness. . .
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Same here. I didn't post one with a caption because I thought everybody had seen it a million times. I knew nothing of the history of the actual pic until Wayne's Wiki link.Mike W. wrote:I'd seen it for a long time, probably 15 years or so, usually with the caption, but never knew it's origin.

The original captioned one from circa 1972:

My college room mate and I did something similar with a 5th of Evan Williams and a 2 liter bottle of Coke the night before our sophomore classes started.a wrote:Depends upon the circumstances. Yeah, the next morning was kind of rough.
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Nice Fair Lady, Cek. With nothing in the pic for a scale, I thought it was a model. Is it a real car?
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Hmmm, seems like a common event. I remember a roommate and I going thru nearly a full quart of I.W. Harper 100 proof one night. I made it into work but didn't sober up until noon or so. That was a loooooong time ago.vinceg101 wrote:My college room mate and I did something similar with a 5th of Evan Williams and a 2 liter bottle of Coke the night before our sophomore classes started.a wrote:Depends upon the circumstances. Heh heh Yah I know the Fair Lady is a model of Datsun (Nissan) . Is the artifact in the picture a scale model or a real car? Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
The sleepy little town I live in is pretty easy going about cars parked on the street for extended periods of time, as long as they're registered. But a couple of cars got tagged with a 3 day notice recently. Right by the Chief of Police's house. Then his Camero did. Funny though, it hasn't moved but it didn't get towed yet.
I guess it was one of the newbies on the force and they didn't do a check before they wrote the warning that I bet was generated by the Chief.

Most amazing vehicle. Going to work at my "satellite" transmitter on Sept. 7, 2017 10:14am in Taylor Mill,Ky 41015 near CincyNasty! I-275 East at Madison Pike. Baby gurl going opposite way so no picture or plate identification. Saw what looked like a probably a cirrusblau E28 doing the pilot/escort vehicle work
My freaking jaw dropped!!
Ol' gurl was ballin'!! Would make you guys feel like me ... Made me want to give up my religious beliefs! She was flyin' like she was on air in da slipstream. Majestic for real! E28 still putting in work at over 30 years old. Da GOAT! Greatest of All Time

Am I the only one bothered by bozos who refer to Japanese-built cars sold in the US as USDM?

and yet more vice. Pot and cigarettes go together like peanut butter and jelly, or scotch and ice cubes. Wabbout a 2 stage delivery device? Not mixed, that is like an Irish coffee that ruins 2 favorite flavors at once. Rather the front half some really gone gage transitioning to a smooth Turkish tobacco? Hmmn

Never heard that. Is that a Midwest thing?davintosh wrote:Am I the only one bothered by bozos who refer to Japanese-built cars sold in the US as USDM?

No, it's a Facebook thing. Trouble is, most people who use the term insist it's correct, and those who know it's not say it doesn't matter because everyone knows what they're talking about.cek wrote:Never heard that. Yeah, not that big a deal to obsess over, and I really don't, but get the overwhelming urge to correct people every now & then, and regret it every time.
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I'm unfamiliar with it too. I've several thoughts. Too much time on FB, might be accurate if it referred to Japanese manufacturer cars built in the US and you obsess too much over the small shit. (not sayin' I don't, just that it's easier to see from a distance)davintosh wrote:No, it's a Facebook thing. It took me awhile to assimilate USDM. I have 2 of them now.

I am researching a rum based cocktail: equal parts Mug rootbeer and lime seltzer with a shot of Gosling's Black Seal Rum. Some adjustment of ingredients is required. More research is necessary. I already bought another handle of Gosling's. Forgot to get more R Beer, but this isn't really needed as time goes by ![Laugh ](./images/smilies/laugh2.gif)

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I prefer rum for mixed drinks. So far I haven't found a juice yet that doesn't go with it. I talk a mean game , but no longer have the stamina to drink much. I have a 5th of single malt, but I want to save it for the cabin or when my sister visits.

I LOVE the holidays. A car shows up, I come home a few hours later and simply exclaim “Christmas shopping”. No questions asked and smiles all around!
