Very cool. The music is a bit dorky. Best word I've got to describe it but really interesting nonethelesscek wrote:Call me impressed:

I was THIS close to ordering a $467.61 box of purple and yellow Powerflex goodness (that's a whole sets worth of bushings) and then I realized I don't have the tools, time, space, or knowledge so I didn't
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
So when I was a kid my Mom painted as a hobby but then life and her career took over and she stopped. Now that she’s retired, she decided to take it back up a few years ago. Today was the first day of her one person art show that runs for a month and I went to the reception because I’m a good son. I like her work but I know I’m biased because she’s my Mom and my take was always pretty much, “well that’s nice she has a little hobby and she’s not just sitting around watching Matlock reruns in her retirement”. I got to the reception about an hour after it started and she already had sold two paintings. One for $450.00 and one for $500.00.
Yet more evidence that I may have been adopted because I have NO talent whatsoever.![Laugh ](./images/smilies/laugh2.gif)

Obligatory "this thread is worthless with out pics", I know it's can be disrespectful to publicize privately owned art but what the hey. I bet your Mom feels pretty cool today, I've tried to sell a couple "handmade" things before and didn't get quite the reception..

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
That's very cool. Especially with the working gearbox and moving pistons. One thing I don't understand is why it looks so disassembled and how they can be happy comparing that to the very slick and sleek body of the real gt3. I once built a Ferrari Enzo out of legos that looked exactly like the real car but this just doesn't

Sounds like you bought Mobil1 synthetic. Really insufficient ZDDP levels for these cars.EventuallyAyrton wrote:I FOUND 15W-50 AT WALMART THANK JESUS

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Would Rotella 15W-40 be a better option? I would totally do it, I'm just worried about my cat. converter and diesel oil
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Come on man. ZDDP is bologna, especially for a high mileage stock engine. Maybe if you have a soft cam/high pressure rockers, otherwise nah.Jeremy wrote:Sounds like you bought Mobil1 synthetic. Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
I did some looking into it and Mobil1 15W-50 has a 1200 ZDDP rating according to a number of different forums oil analysis's/analysies (?) (not sure how credible they are). Mobil has also stated that themselves but I am having trouble finding record of them saying that86GT635 wrote:Come on man. ZDDP is bologna, especially for a high mileage stock engine. Caps win! Caps win! Caps win!!
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
There's a couple of us on this forum that will admit to running castrol for several hundred thousands of miles without any valvetrain/bearing wear. ZDDP doesn't mean squat to those guys.
I understand why guys run "race" oil but I don't see the benefit when the evidence of real life day in/out usage of castrol oil shows it works perfectly fine.

Me thinks your right. Especially on M30s. How many have really had a premature death due to the cheapo 10-30 that comes out of the gun standard at your quickie oil change place? I can appreciate doing it right, and try to, but...EventuallyAyrton wrote:We all worry too much about oil

Yes. I do. We do. Although I've decided on my long term plan now and don't care much anymore. I have certainty now, which I didn't have before.Mike W. wrote:Me thinks your right. Especially on M30s.
